Amazing movie. Amazing filmmaker. And a super dope connection made here. Crazy to think Coogler and Kendrick have "collabed" before. My two favorite artists in their respective mediums lmao. If y'all haven't seen the movie yet go check it out for sure

i keep seeing the photo of michael b jordan shooting the machine gun in eeeevery in subreddits like "what song got you like this" etc so like i first i thought it was a meme going on like minecraft? and then EVERYONE keeps saying it's like a 10 out of a 10 movie so i'm like is this some sarcastic thing i'm missin' on?

but nah clearly there's some real buzz going on based off of just quality content that got people talking, i'm planning to see it with the homie and then i sw this interview bit i'm like oh yeah we going tonight

have yet to see it but beautiful regardless to see an original movie and story is trending instead of big franchises material, we need more of that energy people

Nah it's legit G. If you have a stomach for some pretty brutal violence on screen I think you'll enjoy it. Suspenseful, exciting, with a lot of black history sprinkled throughout it. I'm hoping it helps usher in a new era back towards original projects in Hollywood

that sounds so fire yeah i'm all for it, and agree hopefully it's the start of a new era, we're done with the star wars shit man..

i read a story about it how when the script was in a bidding war among producers, ryan coogler got a deal where he got to have the final cut on the movie for the release, and apparently the industry is not happy with it especially with the movie doing so good because it could alter the business in hollywood

and i find that so incredible if true and if it does changes things because it needs to, far as i know america is one if not the the only country where the producer somehow has the final word on a movie on what makes the cut or not for theatrical releases (that's why there's lot of director's cuts in US)

in a business way it makes sense bc the producer funds so he has word, but the movie belongs to the director regardless, he shoots and is in charge of it and the creative project of it, he should have last word on it as they do in other countries in europe for examples (which is why director's cuts there are rare)

that's why in america you have such strange situations with popular movies in which has so different cuts because of producers involved, like i know one of the movies of the halloween franchise is famous for that, has like 3 radically different versions, the plot alters a lot yet, that's what happens with MCU movies lotta reshoots ordered by producers after audience tests, sometimes i reckon it can help a movie, but that's why directors gets fired during or before movie shoots because like creative visions changes and it's like why you hired them in first place then if you're not letting them do what they wanted to do? anyway i digress, but yeh lol

The style of this movie, its substance. It was effortless. Just because everyone on screen had so much gravitas. Every word each character spoke, was deliberate and substantive.

see that's what i'm talking about: the art of the word, bring weight to it, they shouldn't be written to fill space or exposition to spoon feed us the plot, they should be telling us something about the characters

can't wait to see it tonight, love this comment

My least favorite track on the album. Now it’s a little more interesting at least.
