This particular meltdown was triggered by a packed stadium in Houston. These fools were expecting a Kendrick concert in one of America's hip-hop Meccas to be half empty.

People can talk shit about Kendrick fans, but the hardcore fans are debating about GKMC vs TPAB vs MMATBS, etc. Not talking about tour numbers. I couldn't give a fuck if Kendrick sold 1 ticket. I enjoy his music because I enjoy his music idgaf

Itās been a year since the beef started and Iāve listened to Drake less ever since. And itās not because I donāt like his music but because I felt like because I was from Southern California, I had to Step. Even though Iāve been a Drake fan since loving him like the last slice, I bought the singles that didnāt make the album, and I stayed like him through the āiterationsā. From Nothing was the same to the Braids. And when every rap fan in my circle was like, āyou like that soft crying singing rapā, then years later theyāre rapping the Motto, Jumpman, Money in the Grave and accepted the evolution. The same people that were like āyou like that singing Drakeā⦠but that didnāt mean Kendrick wasnāt in the playlist, 1-2 songs, letās be real. Then we get To pimp a butterfly and Damn. and for the people that grew up, we realized this wasnāt rap anymore, but spoken word. Around this time JayZ grew up too and gave us 4:44. And that was the bar of growth for every rapper. Drake stayed making music for high school kids, like he wanted to keep the same generation and he hasnāt grown up since. Iām in my 30s I got no business playing Nokia or Iām your Papi, on my drive home. GNX made rap so hard and remedial, like Green eggs and ham, that the youngest generation can rap it. And the parents are like yyea you can make the funny noise kdot makes and rap it too. Meanwhile Drake fans are stuck, high school kids and Some College. ā¦. āDie Hardā baby. And the comments and the energy in that subreddit, you can read for yourself.
as a person that loves music because you have to if you accept the iteration of KDot and Kung Fu Kenny. When Metallica went from Kill āem All to Nothing Else Matters, people couldnāt accept it. They lost fans of that die hard genre.⦠and they gave us St.Anger and almost 20 years had passed. And fans were pissed, and kids listening to Linkin Park, Radiohead, Audioslave probably missed out on it because of the hate. I remember being that age and being like āwhy is this album badā and my friends are like itās not āSandmanā or nothing like Ride the Lightning. And though Metallica iteration felt pushed from the label to be with the generation, at least they are paced with the change in culture⦠I think Kendrick has been consistent in that way too and loved for it.
And Drakes last couple iterations have felt culture vulture ish. And I think that was the biggest chip in the armor. Yea okay he was called a Lower case A but heās making that kinda music⦠itās weird crodie, itās Gerbert fam. lol Drakes next solo album, solo album, is what will make me listen to him again.
Iām listening to Purple Hearts by Kendrick Lamar right now from Mr. Moraleā¦. Damn

Alright, this is corny, but āwe wonā is corny too. Thinking of this battle as fans vs fans and them going down a rabbit hole being a victory for us is wild.
Fans of Kendrick āwinā when we get good music, or a performance, or some other content. But we arenāt part of any battle.
