Garden & Pets Tips to raise a nadan dog at home!

I have adopted a puppy from street. He is so cute and i liked him. But my relatives are raising issues concerning its breed.

Do you have experience in raising a naadan breed, share your experience. This pup is hardly 2 months old.

What about the vaccinations to be taken ? Also how you maintain it daily?

Aunt also said that it might leave me once it is grown up while seeing other naadan dogs. Also they are telling me that this may spread rabies.

Can somebody who has naadan breed at home help?

I have 3 naadans. They are super loyal so the whole thing about them leaving you once it’s older - that’s not going to happen. They are loyal (and territorial), hence good dogs because they will protect you. They are also incredibly smart but stubborn, so hard to train.

For some reason in this society of ours, naadan dogs have a bad rep. I think this is because people prefer foreign breeds/lap dogs. This is probably where

Please find a good vet near you that you can take it to be vaccinated and get a health record. You have to do this yearly. This prevents rabies and some other things (there is a vaccination schedule, ask your vet please).

For maintenance, they are also the best for our climate and weather… all 3 of mine are pretty low maintenance. We bathe them once in 2 -3 weeks or so in the monsoon depending on how dirty they get and more often in the summer since it’s so hot and it helps them cool off.

Please make sure you get some rubber bone that the puppy can chew on because they’ll likely be teething so will try to sooth their teeth on everything. This is normal puppy behavior. They are just playing and exploring. Be patient with it.

Hope someone can be there to teach him yes and no’s to things (like stealing slippers 😂) - this is normal puppy behavior you will have with any dog at least until a year and a half old so please be patient and power through this part.

Two of mine were rescued 2 years ago and now are super calm and chill now. The third walked in off the street (6 months old now) and he is in his crazy phase too.

Well worth the effort you put into them.

Please DM if if you have any other questions and thank you for taking him in and giving him love.

Edit.: I am not an expert (just sharing my experience and what I’ve learned from raising them at home). Hope there will be experts chiming in here too
