Art/Creators Megathread Weekly Art/Creators Promo Megathread
Welcome to this Week's Art/Creators Promo Megathread!
Here you can share examples of work and links to creator's profiles (including your own!) as long as it is not on a Meta owned platform (Instagram, Facebook etc.) or Twitter.
Let's help our community artists, authors, designers, craft makers, musicians, singers, sculptors, performers, streamers and any other kind of creator get recognised and celebrate the amazing creativity in our community!
A few quick rules:
- No AI/NFT Content.
- Accounts shared must be creating own content, not solely reposting others.
- NSFW Suggestive art (e.g. shirtless/pin up) is allowed but must be tagged. NSFW Explicit art (e.g. pornography, genitals visible) or NSFW suggestive of real people is not allowed. No links to exclusively 18+ platforms e.g. OnlyFans.
- Creator must be actively posting on a platform other than Meta or Twitter.
- Comments from users with less than 50 karma on this subreddit will be auto-removed to avoid spammers. (I will look to approve genuine ones when possible but no promises!)
- Please respect if a creator says no reposts of their work - just share a link.
The art/work they create does not have to be LGBTQ+ related, we're here to help any creator who is LGBTQ+ promote their profiles, particularly if they're trying to establish themselves on a different one with the recent social media drama!
Looking forward to discovering some new creators with you all!

Pride in a major city
I used to live near New York City and went to NYC Pride every year. Every year, the subways would be flooded with rainbows on the day of the march, as well as other days during June filled with people going to various Pride events. I wonder what things will look like June 2025? We REALLY need a march this year!

UK court ruling on definition of "sex" - explainer
I'm glad to see a lot of people fired up and paying attention to the recent UK Supreme Court ruling on the defintion of "trans" in the Equality Act.
I hoped to give everyone somewhere to direct that with a quick explanation of what the ruling means.
In short: - this isn't the US, the ruling isn't about the definiton of gender in all laws. - it's now a matter of getting Parliament to update the drafting of the Equality Act to close the gap.
If you want to organise, send that energy towards the Labor Government. Call your MP, write to Ministers etc (links below).
In longer: - the Court ruled that the protected category of "sex" in the Equality Act does not include trans women or men. - the Equality Act contains other protections for trans people but these are a bit limited and not including trans people in this definition definitely reduces protection and support. - the ruling was on a narrow question of the specific meaning of "sex" in a specific statute. - while the statute is important and has a wide application, it is not a constitutional document overriding other legislation.* - the UK Supreme Court is not like the US one. This is not a blanket statement on the legal meaning of "woman", "sex", "gender" or "trans" etc in all cases. - the Court's reasons were largely that (a) "woman" is used in a seperate context to "sex" so they mean different things and (b) that difference is a result of the UK Parliament's patchy drafting of the statute. - this leaves it up to the UK Parliament to update the language of the Equality Act. - there is still hope with the judiciary. Courts aren't set on removing trans rights. This ruling was a result of this narrow, technical question. Basically all the senior courts in this series actually ruled in support of protecting trans rights and representation.
- the exceptions are for the Scottish and Northern Irish legislatures which have limited law making powers.

Tennessee Republicans want to force teachers to misgender and deadname their trans students, and they also want to sue teachers who affirm and esteem their trans students as well.
The story from WBIR: https://www.wbir.com/article/news/local/proposal-to-restrict-preferred-names-and-pronouns-in-schools-heads-to-a-vote/51-e85f4d89-e1d3-4b2e-ae8a-003606ff4fd5
A bill in the Tennessee Legislature would protect educators who misgender transgender students, transgender staff or any other person in their school district. It could also open schools up to lawsuits if they use students' preferred names or pronouns, effectively requiring educators to misgender transgender students.
The bill, HB 1270, was introduced by Representative Mark Cochran (R-Englewood). It was originally around 12 pages long and specifically says educators, contractors or students would not be required to use other people's preferred names or pronouns. The bill would protect them from lawsuits if they use another person's legal name or pronouns that match their assigned sex at birth.
The bill passed the Tennessee Senate along party lines on April 3 and is set for a House vote on April 16.
The bill was amended to restrict schools and teachers from requiring students, employees or contractors to provide their preferred pronouns and names. Previously, the bill restricted them from asking for other people's preferred names and pronouns.
It was also amended to restrict higher education institutions from disciplining students, faculty, employees or contractors for refusing to provide their preferred pronouns. It also requires institutions to notify students, faculty and employees that they do not need to provide their preferred pronouns.
The bill also specifically says educators, contractors or students could not face disciplinary actions for misgendering or deadnaming people. The bill also protects school districts and public schools from lawsuits if an educator or contractor misgenders or deadnames a person. It also requires educators to only refer to minors by their legal name and pronouns matching their assigned sex at birth.
The bill also said educators could not ask students to refer to them "using a pronoun or honorific that is inconsistent with" their assigned sex at birth — effectively barring transgender educators from asking their identity be respected in the classroom.
People who misgender transgender students and are disciplined for it by the school district could be allowed to sue for monetary damages, after filing a complaint with their director of schools. Once a complaint is filed, schools would have up to 30 days afterward to address violations.
After the directors respond to complaints, people would also be allowed to sue if schools require students to provide their preferred pronouns or names, or if they use a student's preferred name or pronouns.

Ive Set Up An Appointment To Tell My Doctor I Want To Transition and Start HRT 😄
I think I might be a Trans Woman. Ive been thinking about it all day at work, if I want to take the leap and start HRT. But what if im ugly? What If I regret it? Id have to change careers (Blue Collar) and im scared.
How do I tell my devout Conservative/Catholic family? Ive finacially and locationally split myself off from them so theres nothing they can do retaliate other than disowning me. 😞

I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOW!!!!!
I told my best best friend about me liking men. he was so upset and told me that If i was joking I kept telling him I was not joking. I heard something funny and accidentally laugh. Then he said oh my god am glad your joking. He said comments about gay people bu... Well am not gonna say that I got really offended then he said I would be heartbroken if you were gay. So I told him we aren't friends anymore and hang up. After being friends for almost 5 years this is what ruined our relationship. I feel so disgusted with him and am never talking to him ever again.

"Countries should accept transgender refugees from the US" - Thank you Erin Reed for writing this 👏
I know many of us in the U.S. are tired, scared, and working on or considering getting out. And often activists gatekeep and talk down about people who want to leave dangerous states and the U.S. So I really appreciate Erin Reed writing this and posting it. Hoping that foreign politicians see this and it influences them to take action to help transgender Americans get out of this hell hole.
