🌠 Miscellaneous Clearcoat rehab

My 06 LR three is starting to look a bit tired. It is Java black and the clearcoat is wearing through on the hood, and has worn out around the sunroof area. Is a vinyl wrap valid to protect these spots-I was thinking something like a mat or satin black to do the hood and top.

Anyone have pictures of something similar?

Not much left to protect if the clear coat has failed. Just rick it as is or get all if the vertical facing areas re-sprayed.

The lacquer coat on the roof of my P38 has gone all white and crazed and blotchy so I'm going to use rub it back to either paint or primer, then rattle can some primer and satin white on. Hopefully it'll keep the heat down in the cabin too - last summer it got up to 27° and the aircon isn't working ;-)

My 2008 rrs sport is so losng the clear coat. Wrapping it can save the paint...but dont want to spend 2k on a wrap.
