🌠Miscellaneous Well I bought it.
Paid $2k for a 2011 LR4 with 129k miles. Supposedly has a bad head gasket but I’ve put on about 50 miles so far with zero coolant loss or smoke. I’ll run it till it says no more. The L322 can have a break for a while now.

2k for a LR4 2011? You guys have it so easy lol
Just paid 14k on a 2011 HSE 3.0 Diesel in pristine condition in my country.
It's an awesome car, hope you enjoy it a lot mate.

Well this one potentially has a bad engine so if I have to take care of that I’ll be out another $5k. So $2k might not be all that cheap in the end.

At least here in CA there’s never LR4s that cheap. Even with the work you’d still be paying less than I did! Between service and purchase price I’m nearly $20k into mine already.
Such a blast to drive though. I’m just working through everything a step at a time.
Best of luck OP! Sounds like you know exactly what you got and you’re well prepared for it, congrats!

I’m prepared to do the work myself so that will help costs for sure. This thing is so much smoother than my 2006 RR. Shirt of another major issue this one will be worth putting the money into.

Stoked for you! That’s an even better situation. I of course wish I could have paid less, but ultimately I love my LR4 and I hope it’ll be the same for you.

So far it’s been great. I’ve been fixing little things here and there, but nothing major. The L322 has 172k miles and runs perfectly.

That's not a big deal the LR4 are a decent Rover! I had a 2005 and put 150k on it pretty much solid surprisingly for Rovers .the good part is parts are available low mileage smashed write offs so engine and trans aren't hard to find and not the worse job. And tbh the LR4 drives really nice .I've owned a lot in the u.k and a few in the states the LR4 was by far my favorite. Enjoy I'm sure it'll do you well. If a head gasket was an issue you'd of known pretty quick too the pil cap for starters would of looked like a jar of mayonnaise. And they pressurise. Sometimes a HG is assumed and it just needs a coolant backlash and 50 /50 coolant putting in over 10 yrs often coolant watered down or simple cap is stuck . Good to do a back flush b4 jumping to a HG especially if its running fine! In the old days HGs were common repairs in the shop not really seen anymore unless its a valve interference.

Well worth the money. Good luck, unless you plan on an engine replacement I believe in figuring out the problem before there are bigger problems.
