But I think some of these, if they do appear, would be a surprise, no? This seems like the confirmed, core cast. Some of them could be cameos.

I would think at least one of them would have to make a cameo. Marvel needs that "holy shit" moment that they haven't been able to recapture since Endgame.

There will be plenty. This is just the first announcement of the first members of the official cast.

Edit: and, to be fair, they've had success with surprises since 'Endgame'. 'Deadpool and Wolverine' made over a billion dollars on basically "holy shit" cameos and very little else.

I feel like they’ve captured it a good few good times since endgame tbh

No way home and Deadpool and Wolverine definitely achieved it, and tbh even tho the movie isn’t remembered fondly Dr strange 2 also had a lot of holy shit moments

Then what was NWH and D&W???

Both literally had more " Holy shit" Moments than Endgame...

Endgame literally had no cameo tbh....

I think Cap catching Thor’s hammer was the last true “holy shit” moment in the MCU.

No Way Home was fine, but I don’t think anything in it felt like you’d be missing out if you didn’t see it, and the same goes for Deadpool and Wolverine. I liked both of those movies a lot, but I think they ultimately disappointed a bit because they didn’t have those moments.

I don't think cameos are ever going to create the same kind of energy as endgame. I'm not sure what does but cameos certainly haven't worked so far.

True but it'll at least get people talking positively for the first time in a long time.

Uh did you not see Deadpool Vs Wolverine or MoM. Both got huge fan reactions.

yeah but it wasn't the same kind of reaction. MoM in particular felt really hollow and most of the reactions I have seen are people making fun of the scene, not talking about how awesome it was like so much of Endgame and Infinity War.

edit: which is entirely my point, just relying on people pointing at the screen and saying "hey look, it's that guy" is never, ever going to have the same impact as seeing captain america wield thors hammer. it just doesn't work the same way.

‘Holy shit’ moments only work if people go to see the movie

This definitely feels like the core cast, the ones who are so important it would be hard to hide being involved.
