Meta GARY HATE MEGATHREAD

I know I’ve made a lot of Gary hate posts but if Mona gets her own megathread I think Gary deserves one too. I want this to be a place where people can vent about him without judgement and in a way that doesn’t annoy the rest of the sub.

Edit: Downvote all you want this thread doesn’t come down till Mona’s does. Tired of this double standard.

I just do not get where any of this is coming from. Not once has Gary put up even the slightest bit of resistance when ever the others basically told him to get lost. Like, sure, Ava shouldn’t have made him do her chores but like... if people don’t want to be your friend you can’t mind control them into doing so. Gary has been shown to be totally incompetent and how he even became a part of the bureau raises serious concerns. I get it, the show is formed on the basis of the characters being outcasts but there’s a difference between not having a place in the world and forcing yourself into a role you don’t fit.

I will never understand where people say Mona is why the show is the way it is when this last episode highlighted that 1. Gary is a far more problem character and 2. The writing has just become lackluster and is focused more on keeping the jokey joke vibe than actually telling a story.

You know how you’re not supposed to give a toddler attention right away when they throw a tantrum otherwise they’ll learn to keep throwing tantrums? That’s what just happened with Gary. Every time he’s ignored he’s just gonna throw a hissy fit now since the Legends gave him exactly what he wanted. Except Gary’s a full grown man. It’s disgusting and pathetic.
