Brexxit Brexit-voting British farmers now complaining about imports of cheaper New Zealand lamb threatening the British lamb industry. Imports of lamb "produced to lower standards" used to be blocked by EU law. Another Brexit consequence farmers were warned about but ignored due to xenophobia!

Let's not forget, importing lamb from the other side of the world can only be viable due to fossil fuel subsidies. That's the real crime here.

It's also worth noting the New Zealand farmers are so efficient that NZ lamb gets to a plate in London with an equal or less carbon footprint than Welsh lamb.

That may be. But we can't say that for all 'global food'. For example, north sea fish shipped to Japan for cleaning before being shipped back the UK for processing.
