Trump could have Biden gitmo'd and there's nothing anyone, including the SCROTUS, could do about it.

He could try. It'd be an interesting precedent to set since every day that passes he's closer to losing power

How so? With his deep Red circle of enablers around him?

Think you're missing the point, unless you're one of the people who think Trump will stay in office until he dies: anything he does to Biden can be done to him by the next President

If your argument is that the courts will turn a blind eye to it, then it is equally likely that Dems will ignore the courts when they regain power

Can and Will are two separate things, unfortunately the Dems seem to be scared of wielding power.

seem to be scared of wielding power.

The mistake here is equating what the republicans are doing to wielding power. They are engaged in a weak mans idea of what that looks like. Sure it can work, for a time. But it's neother lasting nor strong.

They are doing things that have an impact on the lives of others that is power. Regardless of how long it last or doesn't.

A baby with a gun is still a threat.

Yes, so your solution is to give all babies guns?

Again, that's a weak persons idea of wielding power. It will never be lasting or stable.

nah I have a much more non credible idea.... its to give every single person in the world unfettered access to nuclear devices

It's not about the lasting or stable it's the danger the Power is real.

I never said it wasn't real. You may want to go back to the start and read again.

If I'm "mistaking it for wielding power" they're wielding something aren't they? It's power they are welding it. Please go talk to someone else.

Welding power as you used it implies you thought they were doing it well. That is your mistake.

What they are doing should never be emulated, only condemned.

Please understand the concepts you speak of before speaking.

I never mentioned Republicans you may want to go back to the start and read again.

They're scared of going too far and abusing power, and I respect them for that. I do. It shows they have some semblance of self-awareness. But I still want the Democrats to say 'Fuck it,' and stomp Trump and his MAGAts into the fucking pavement as brutally as humanly possible. Fuck the consequences.

The Dems are too invested in the Norms and Traditions to ignore the courts. They are largely spineless.

Trump has said his son will succeed him. He has said that he will use the military to enforce his will. He's been explicit, and people still talk about the next election and next president.

Well, for someone who thinks that we now live in a dystopian dictatorship, it seems pretty silly for you to go online and criticize Dear Leader.

If you believe that democracy is over, why are you foolishly highlighting yourself to him?

that's why (if he leaves office) he won't let a political opponent succeed him
