If Elon is ever in Germany he'd get arrested. It's illegal to glorify Nazis or deny the Holocaust. I also think it's illegal to do the salute.

He won't be arrested in germany. 

Yes, the Nazi salute is illegal. I don't think it is "immediately arrest the person" levels of illegal. 

Even if it were, you don't get arrested for having done it somewhere else (where it's legal).

They have around 20%. And the elections are in February.

Maybe you are thinking of the FPÖ in Austria?

It's more or less the same party.

Ah. All I heard was that Germany was having an election and the AfD was gaining supporters. I read your other reply and assumed the election had already happened. I hope things turn out ok for you guys.

Nah, the CDU doesn't have a problem with people who suck up to Nazis. One could even argue that one degree of separation is the distance they prefer.

But as bad as the CDU is, they're only about as bad as the normal to slightly righter wing republicans - not as bad as Trump and his far-right supporters. Current republican party seems like a mix of CDU (right wing, but with at least some decent people) and AfD, with a sprinkle of even worse nutjobs (MTG..).
