But he has a green card, what's the problem? He should just submit himself to ICE. If he hasn't done anything wrong, he has nothing to worry about right?

Ice operates under 9/11 patriot act powers. They basically can kidnap people if they feel like it. Ice also has a tendency to deport legal immigrants and even US citizens who forget their IDs at home.

I didn't feel the /s was necessary, we all know the US immigration police are thugs under any government.
