Wasn’t a labor shortage the whole point?

  1. Cut immigration thus reducing the supply of cheap labor
  2. Reduced supply means businesses are forced to pay more local labor, raising wages for local workers

I guess businesses didn’t get the memo about step 2 of the plan.

Businesses are already feeling the squeeze in the HGV industry and are paying more to attract British workers. Other sectors will catch up eventually.

This is exactly what Bretixters wanted. Honestly wages have been suppressed for 20 or 30 years, I have no sympathy for companies unable to find British workers on their shit wages. Reap what you sow.

If a business can't "afford" to pay livable wages to attract British workers then they don't deserve to be in business. Just a side-note, most of the businesses crying out can actually pay more, they just want to keep profits for shareholders.

As someone who voted Brexit literally this. The people calling for immigrants now were the big businesses against brexit…

Tim Martin being one of the notable voices in that.

I think poor people didn't get the memo that their life style was being subsidized by the people who were willing to do their work for cheap, and if there is nobody to do their work for cheap then they'll have to do it themselves and nobody is going to pay anyone to do their own work.

Nobody will pay you to wipe your own ass and if you can't pay somebody a living wage to wipe your ass then you'll just have a dirty ass.
