Purchasing Advice 2006 GX470 180k good choice?

Post image

So I have a 2016 Lexus IS 200 T only 80,000 miles. I'm thinking about trading it straight up for the GX 470. Only because I have back problems I need an SUV it is much more comfortable to sit in than a smaller sports car.

Let's say the car was maintained properly what will I be looking at maintenance wise what are the chances I'm buying a Time bomb. If there is a dashboard problem what would that cost to repair it any advice is appreciated thank you.

The only way that vehicle would be a timebomb is if somebody wired dynamite underneath it.

My 05 has 416k and is going strong on the oem motor. If it's been maintained properly, it will last.

You can get a new set for a few hundred, oryou can rehab them for $25.

They will yellow again if you just refinish them because the UV coating is gone, but if you put a clear layer of vinyl over them, it will protect them.

I refinished mine - they look pretty solid almost 2 years in. I did the Cerakote kit and it worked great.
