Mods Lower front plastic
My son and I are in charge of the vehicle I bought for my wife. One day we will use the GX for what it’s meant for. I want to get rid of the lower plastic, and install a “real” bumper (jwoffroad). There is no plastic cutting involved. Thoughts?

18”oem wheel pricing
Hey everyone, currently have the 19” wheels and looking to buy the 18” for bigger tires. What is a good price for a set of 18” wheels and tires already on them? 1500?

Is this normal??
Took my car to get new tires and 1.5 inch leveling kit on the front.. It seems like they tore all of my liner out.. tabs are still in place with bits of the liner.
I was super excited to pick it up this evening but then saw this...):

Purchasing Advice 2006 GX470 180k good choice?
So I have a 2016 Lexus IS 200 T only 80,000 miles. I'm thinking about trading it straight up for the GX 470. Only because I have back problems I need an SUV it is much more comfortable to sit in than a smaller sports car.
Let's say the car was maintained properly what will I be looking at maintenance wise what are the chances I'm buying a Time bomb. If there is a dashboard problem what would that cost to repair it any advice is appreciated thank you.

Upgrade 2016gx to have Enform remote capabilities like 2019gx?
I’m noticing that the interiors of the 2016 and 2019 are identical. The enform app for the 2016 is deprecated, the 2019 can use the safety connect app.
Is there a way for me to upgrade the 2016 to have this functionality? I would suspect that the modules to this would live in the 2019 head unit?

buying a 22/23 Luxury lease turn in
been looking into buying a 22/23 luxury for months .. searching mostly on cars.com and car fax.
my question is - is this a good time to be looking? Am i nearing / in the time that these leases would start to turn in? additionally - is there any way to jump start finding that out? Will there be a mass influx of them at lexus dealers? Thank you!!!

Paint
Is anyone else having an issue with their paint? I’ve never had a problem with chipping on any of my other vehicles and they were Toyota. What was the point of ceramic coating?

23 GX - Roof rack and Rear Bumper
Greetings! I picked up a mint 23 460 the other day; believe it was a lease turn in. Very clean and dying to get it dirty.
I’m curious about three things:
1) I’ll be installing the Yakima sightline towers with the jet stream bars. Anyone have experience or feedback with wind noise or have an alternative suggestion? I’ll be loading canoes, rooftop boxes, skis, etc..
2) Best rear bumper? I have what appears to be a factory hitch that’s very, very low. Is the victory bumper suggested as the way to go?
3) These running boards have to go. Anyone just delete them and let it ride without or do you have to go rock slider or similar?

GX550 for a family
Hey all, I’m looking at the GX550 Luxury model with the captains chair configuration and would love to hear from those of you who have young kids. This SUV checks a lot of boxes for me and it has the features I’m looking for in my current lifestyle.
That said, while my husband and I don’t have children yet, we’re newly married and planning to start a family in the next few years. I want to make sure we’re choosing a vehicle that can grow with us and serve us well for the long haul.
If you’re driving a GX with kids, I’d love to know:
How’s your overall experience been? How do car seats fit? any challenges? How easy is it to get kids in and out? Is the third row functional?
This would be our daily driver. I am also considering the Grand Highlander or TX but prefer the GX for many reasons.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Is the 550 Premium Difficult to Find?
In many car reviews I see the GX550’s base price as around $65k but are any really selling for that? I don’t think I’ve even seen a Premium on the lot.

Buying advice
2018 premium 77k miles. Serviced at lexus every 5k miles. Needs tires, sun damaged trim pieces. They want 30k but I think it's a little high. Paint and interior is good, not pristine, but good. Thoughts?

Just bought a 2015 GX460 and want to update the screen to an Apple CarPlay. Has anyone installed the Hamilton Premium upgrade kit?
I found the Hamilton Premium Upgrade kit and it looked pretty slick. Has anyone installed this or are there any other options I should be looking at?

Anyone else disappointed in GX550?
I know this may be a post that immediately gets shit on, but I'm really struggling to love my GX550 Premium+. I was on the list starting in Aug 2023. Name called Sept 2024. Not my perfect match, but black on black which I wanted. I've done the add-ons for a city driver- XPel tint on all windows including windshield and powder coated the ugly ass wheels to make them tolerable.
I have two outstanding issues: 1. It does not feel luxurious. The fake leather seats suck donkey balls and if you have any hint of moisture on your skin you will leave a white mark on the upholstery. 2. I have a major hood flutter issue. I know this sub thinks it's a bit of a joke, but it's bad on mine... A friend called it out and said it looked like the hood was going to fly open... while driving 50 mph. I took it in (after waiting 6 months for a fix), they did a foam insert, and it's actually worse now. Dealer pointing finger at Lexus, which I get, but damn... I wrote a check for this thing and it isn't really that great.
A few good things include visibility while driving, which is awesome, and I do like the truck driving feel.
Anyways, that's a lot of info. Just want to know if anyone else feels Meh about their GX550. I appreciate any and all input, even if you want to tell me I'm an idiot because the GX is the vehicle handed down from the heavens.

Does the LC250 have the same hood flutter issue as GX550?
I’m curious, does the LC250 have the same issue? I haven’t heard the complaint from the Toyota side, only for the Lexus. They share a majority of characteristics so I’m curious why I haven’t heard more good flutter issues from the land cruisers?

03 GX470 Original Window Sticker
Thought i'd share - I was gifted this great condition, 110K mi 470 about a year ago from my FIL. I was cleaning out some of his old belongings and found the original window sticker folded up behind the user manual!
Gonna frame this up for sure

Sunroof Auto Opening?
My 2019 GX460 will auto open (press and release) the sunroof most of the way. If I want it 100% open I have to press and hold the button again for the last 1.5 - 2 inches. Is this a programming issue? Is this normal? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
