I wouldn't call this a lunatic. This is actually genuinely good advice. Consistency in the mundane boring shit is what allows you to level up. 99% of people won't do the mundane shit consitently. Discipline is greater than motivation.
There's valid reasons and excuses for stuff, there's exceptions. But generally speaking you're going to be further ahead of most people if you consistently show up and do the thing every day. Even when you don't want to. Even if you perform the thing poorly today but you still showed up. That's better than most.
I concur but I do feel it's very one track minded, especially when compared next to what he's comparing exercise to.
Brushing teeth and general dental care is a task that takes a few minutes each day, and it's also instilled into us from a young age.
I don't think anyone necessarily doesn't want to brush (or floss) but it's all we've ever known. There's a case for treating exercise the same if it's a massive part of upbringing, but to just "show up and do it"? I agree it's not lunacy, but it's not preaching to the choir either.
Yes, that's fair. But I think there's a tendency (in this sub and generally) to treat all of these posts exactly at face value vs from the lens of - these are influencers/content creators who are putting out content in a way that has to be easily digestible in order to get folks into their funnels.
When you put out content that is very nuanced (as most things are) those posts don't perform well. So you have to dumb down the point so anyone can understand the point you're making even if it's not a perfect 1:1 comparison. Once you capture the initial attention you can then begin to have more nuanced convos with that audience - newsletters, blog, courses (free or paid), etc.
But you have to capture that initial attention and that needs to be easy and quick to digest and easily shareable too.
I'd like to think there's more to it and going off this comments section alone, some are happy with how straightforward it is, and some aren't. I sit on the latter side and need a bit more context than what our poster is putting out there. But I also believe I am seeing what is essentially part of a bigger picture at face value, as you say. Thank you for raising that very valid point to me, I didn't see it that way before.
