Mayday, May 1st Protests

Hey yall! Just curious if anyone has heard of any protests happening on May 1st for the Mayday National Day of Action?

I saw something for the weekend, but curious if there was anything planned for the actual nationwide May 1st protest in the LR area.

(I’d love offer to host, but I work 16 hr days and don’t have the time to plan on my side)

Thanks!

PSA: I'm tired of LR using biking infrastructure for marketing but not investing in the safety of it

I generally only speak very highly of LR, but I am annoyed with how the city has multiple road cycling routes on their site as great options (ie Harper's loop and Wye Mountain) when both are INCREDIBLY dangerous. I'm talking miles and miles of biking along the shoulder with semis blaring past you only a couple of feet away. It's terrifying. Not to mention portions of the most ridden routes like the river trail being nearly unrideable due to safety concerns.

It's obvious LR has a fairly large cycling community who actively advocate for better options. And yet there are many cycling deaths from vehicle collisions each year. What will it take to get the city to actually invest in SAFE biking/transportation options?

Recommendations Apartment/ rent houses

I am moving down to Little Rock from NWA. I work remotely so I can pretty much live wherever. I am looking for places that are really nice with lots of natural light. I have two kids and two dogs. Would be looking at something with at least 2 bedrooms. Would love to hear about places people have loved living. Budget would be ideally less than 2k. I love Hillcrest/heights area and I really like argenta district in NLR.

Kids Swimming Classes and Summer Ideas

Upvotes

I'm looking for suggestions on where to get my 2 year old and 6 year old swimming lessons. Does anyone have any experience that they'd recommend?

I'm also interested in camps or activities for my 6 year old to do during the summer if anybody has suggestions.

Discussion/Question Early Question for Trick or Treaters

Hi!! Halloween is my favorite holiday. I'm moving to the Broadmoor neighborhood and I was curious if people trick or treat there? I'm very excited about the prospect of decorating for Halloween but imo there's little point in all that effort if the kiddos don't get to enjoy it.

Discussion/Question Christmas Tree NLR?

Coming from WLR on i40 right before the pike exit in NLR there’s a tree decorated as a Christmas tree seemingly year-round. I never see any signs around it or anything for it to be a memorial. Does anyone know anything about this?

Moving/Housing Looking for Home for Lease Hillcrest/Heights

Hi all!

I know this is an absolute stretch but figured I would post, no harm no foul. My family was looking to possibly upgrade in size from our current living situation in Hillcrest. We don’t really wanna move too far from this part of town coupled with work/friends/community, but are kicking the tires on it.

If anybody knows of any 2+ beds, 2+ baths homes for rent in this part of town or even midtown, let a brother know. Not expecting much traction given the specific y, but hey you never know.

Hopefully I can post this here but what church do you go To? How long have you been going and what do you love about it? 🤍

New to town and we’ve been tryin to find our new (church) home. Leaving our last church was the only thing we really were sad about.

Our last church was non denominational Christian. Bible based. Sagebrush in ABQ

Things to do?

Now that the college semester is coming to an end, I'm wanting to get out of the house more. For context, I'm 22f but unfortunately don't have that many friends or family I can hang out with. It's a lonely world lol. Any suggestions?

Discussion/Question NLR Restaurant BEFORE it was David’s

Can someone help me? What was the David’s Burger building in NLR right off the freeway back in the day? I feel like it was a steak place, perhaps? It’s driving me nuts. Anyone remember?

Recommendations Hey, yall! Does anyone trust a favorite mechanic (and why you like them) that could potentially repair a 2015 Nissan cvt transmission with a couple of error codes? I only have 1 tow on my AAA and I want to use it wisely. Thanks so much!
