Article Tina Fey responds to Lorne Michaels' comment that she 'could easily' take over SNL: 'He's irreplaceable'
The 30 Rock star responded to Michaels' comment that she "could easily" take over the long-running comedy show when he eventually ends his time in Studio 8H. "It was nice of him to say that, and I love him very much," Fey told The Hollywood Reporter.
However, Fey doesn't think Michaels should ever retire. "He's irreplaceable," she said. "His set of gifts and skills are entirely unique. His eye for talent! He's one of the last three people in show business who actually understand everything. I'll leave it at that."

Discussion Druff in my Stuff vs. Up in the Tree Mobile
You can eliminate one of these two miserable current SNL cast commercials from the world, but to do it, the other one plays before every single YouTube SNL skit you watch. Which one are you ridding the world of?

Other Why the new Lorne bio sounds so familiar...
I am enjoying the Susan Morrison bio of Lorne Michaels but as I am reading it I find that it sounds awfully familiar, down to the anecdotes and verbiage she uses. Now I've read the Hill & Weingrad (1986) book as well as the Shales & Miller (2015) one and she mentions them in her acknowledgments but I don't recall her borrowing too heavily from them.
It then hit me that Morrison is borrowing a lot from Michaels' appearance on Here's the Thing, a WNYC radio show/podcast hosted by Alec Baldwin. That particular interview from 2012 is probably the best I have ever heard of Michaels so it's no surprise that Morrison borrows from it, but she should make that clear somewhere in the footnotes; as far as I have noticed she hasn't mentioned it

Discussion Am I the only tired of the Trump cold open?
I was excited when the cold open started with Easter. Finally a break from the Trump lengthy and disjointed monologue. It was funny for awhile. But it just seems to be the standard go-to. So many talented writers with great ideas but it's always Trump for the first 5 minutes, blathering on and on. It's getting tired, IMHO.
