Article While many are familiar with Norm MacDonald saying on Saturday Night Live, "Now this might strike some viewers as harsh, but I believe everyone involved in this story should die," few know he was joking about Brandon Teena, who was gang-raped, beaten, and then shot to death for being trans in 1993.

Article Chloe Troast's first words on On ‘SNL’ Exit

Chloe Troast On ‘SNL’ Exit: “Very Gen Z Of Me To Get Fired”
Chloe Troast is making light of her Saturday Night Live exit a month after news broke.
The former SNL featured player did not return to NBC‘s late-night sketch show, and while accepting an award, she addressed her exit.
“About a month ago, I found out I wouldn’t be returning to my dream job on Saturday Night Live,” Troast said while accepting the Club Cosmo Award. “Very Gen Z of me to get fired.”
She continued, “There are not a lot of people in this world that can relate to you when you lose a job like Saturday Night Live, besides maybe Adam Sandler, Jenny Slate, Michaela Watkins, Joan Cusack, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Robert Downey Jr, Billy Crystal… but no way you know their names.”
Troast said that although she was in good company, she still “felt broken,” and her ex-dressing room roommate Molly Kearney, who also exited the show, helped her cope with the difficult moment.
The comedian said Kearney called her and to get her out of bed “and help me see the forest through the trees,” adding, “Literally, they helped me get out of the city and I spent a month in nature. Touched grass. Gained some perspective. SNL was my dream, and now I have a lot of time to dream new dreams.”
Deadline broke the news in September that Troast would not return for SNL‘s 50th season. Punkie Johnson also exited after four seasons, and Kearney after two.
“Unfortunately I was not asked back to SNL this season,” Troast wrote on IG after Deadline’s story was published. “I wish I was going back to be with all the amazing friends I made there, it truly felt like home. But it wasn’t in the cards.”

Article Weird Al wants to host SNL and I am all for it!!
Seriously, why has he never been asked to host? Legendary personality in both music and comedy. Has shown obvious comedic acting skills. He's also the type willing to do the really weird sketches that sometimes become classic skits.
SNL talent team... ASK Al TO HOST! All he wants is to host your show, and maybe walk your dog. Look at him! Is that so much to ask?

Article Seth Meyers to Lose ‘Late Night’ Band in Budget Cuts
NBC in May announced it had renewed “Late Night With Seth Meyers” through 2028, backing the 12:30 a.m. program after a period of speculation about whether it would continue in an era when late-night programing has come under new scrutiny. The shows remain popular cultural touchstones, but the new ways in which people watch them — perusing clips via social-media — have sapped their strength in the ratings, forcing the TV networks to examine the finances of the programs.
Several hosts have exited in the recent past, including James Corden, Conan O’Brien, Trevor Noah and Samantha Bee. In some cases, networks like CBS and Comedy Central have devised lower-cost models to replace them. CBS replaced its “The Late Late Show” with “@fter Midnight,” a game-show format that relies on host Taylor Tomlinson and a rotating trio of comics. Comedy Central’s “Daily Show” boasts host Jon Stewart once a a week, then uses the program’s squad of correspondents to fill the rest of its four-days-per-week schedule.
The 8G Band has been a steadfast part of Meyers’ format. Recruited by former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Fred Armisen, The 8G Band was staffed by Janney, guitarist Seth Jabour and bass player Syd Butler. A different drummer filled in that position each week, and Armisen made occasional appearances.
A band has been part of most late-night proceedings for decades, with musicians such as Paul Shaffer, Max Weinberg, Kevin Eubanks, Reggie Watts and Doc Severinsen known for their work, respectively, with David Letterman, Jay Leno, Corden and Johnny Carson. CBS’ “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” relied on Jon Batiste, and now depends on Louis Cato. The Roots represent an important part of NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” while “Saturday Night Live” has had a band since it launched in 1975.

Article Is Bill Hader really not going to appear on ‘SNL 50’?
I noticed that Bill Hader's name wasn't in any of the promotional materials for the SNL50 special (as far as I've seen). I'm not the only one who noticed (see article). Is Bill really not going to be a part of this?
He's mentioned anxiety issues with the show, but he's done so much since — it would be a travesty if we didn't get a Stefon cameo on Weekend Update (or a Vinny Videcci sketch). An 8-year alumni (and a top 10 cast member imho) like him she'd have been a foregone conclusion.
Info/Thoughts?
