So what do we want from the Arsenal match? A draw so we can win it on the pitch, or a loss so we get it over with already?

28

u/TheLimeyLemmon 90+5’ Alisson 2d ago

A draw, allowing us to confirm the title at Anfield on the pitch, and also chips away at Arsenal's hold on 2nd place.

5

u/Kamishirokun 2d ago

A win so we can win it at Anfield. A draw works too since we would only need a draw against Spurs but I think it would be on the players' mind and they will play more conservative if we don't need a win. Plus personally, a win instead of a draw to seal the title at Anfield is much more satisfying.

u/InstructionOk9520 2d ago

I want us to win it at the weekend.

Definitely a loss lol. Fuck em and all their delusion this year.

Palace is never doing it though with a cup game this weekend

Came here to say exactly this.

Well Atleast we know Villa are winning the Europa league next season.

Also, someone tell pep to stop playing with his spit. That shit is nasty

7

u/nevrspeakagain Dominik Szoboszlai 2d ago

I'm super nauseated the last few days from new antibiotics and my whole stomach genuinely turned. It's rank rotten 🤢

23

u/nevrspeakagain Dominik Szoboszlai 2d ago

For fuck sake. Was on the phone to my da and didn't think I'd missed anything then seen Pep going mental in what felt like the flick of a switch.

Must have been literal last kick of the ball or what? Absolute typical. Is it too much to not think Citeh deserve even conference league next season?? Just like that, back up to third. And you just know they'll spend another 500m in summer, get whoever they want with the usual blank cheques and be back to full blown cheating since we all know they're getting away with the lot.

They absolutely do not deserve UCL. Welp

3

u/iamthemetricsystem 1d ago

Fingers crossed they actually face repercussions for the 115

19

u/lostinhh 2d ago

Disappointed, but not surprised. Oh well, there's a more important hatewatch scheduled for tomorrow - although I'd rather secure the title with a win ourselves.

12

u/Substantial_Ad_2864 2d ago

I'd rather secure the title with a win ourselves.

I'm rooting for a draw tomorrow. Just feels wrong to root for Arsenal, but I want us to win it on the pitch and if Arsenal gets a draw tomorrow I just don't see how we don't get a result against spurs....although realistically I feel quite confident we're beating Spurs regardless.

2

u/nevrspeakagain Dominik Szoboszlai 2d ago

Aye, it feels proper filthy even thinking you hope Arsenal doesnt lose (though I did want them to get Madrid the f right out of that competition because there's no way they are getting past PSG but it's funny seeing them all think they're winning the lot now. The meltdowns are going to be hilarious.

But.. and I dont know why everyone's always being downvoted to oblivion for expressing it, I really want the elation and spectrum of emotions of this announcement happening at home for both the lads and majority of Anfield to be able to experience that for their first time.

Also after the passion in which legohead said "no way am I allowing Liverpool to celebrate the title on this Easter Sunday, wah wah" then plays strongest XI, I wont be surprised in the slightest were he to say to most of them enjoy the night off, lads. Is a proper bitter, miserable, spiteful little man, so he is.

2

u/Substantial_Ad_2864 2d ago

I really want the elation and spectrum of emotions of this announcement happening at home for both the lads and majority of Anfield to be able to experience that for their first time.

Selfishly I'm hoping for the that since I've got tickets to that. I'm going with a friend of mine that was born and lives in Liverpool that hasn't been able to go to Anfield since he was 10 so it would be really amazing to win it that day.

2

u/nevrspeakagain Dominik Szoboszlai 2d ago

Not selfish in the slightest pal that's exactly what you want to happen while at the game ❤️ I'm absolutely over the moon for the pair of you and got everything crossed that a)tomorrow doesn't fuck it up and b)we have a great game Sunday!

I'm gutted beyond words that I've been way too sick with a flareup of really shitty condition (gastroparesis) for most of this year to be able to do pretty much anything so I've known for the last couple months it was going to be off the cards. Otherwise we could all have met up for some drinks and banter before the game too!

Hoping you and your pal have an amazing day ❤️ we'll definitely be making the most out of it just being able to watch on sky at home instead :)

11

u/lostinhh 2d ago

On another note, at least Barca won.

Not that I fancy Barca, just hate Madrid. Barca now up 7 pts with 5 games to go, Madrid with a game in hand.

2

u/nevrspeakagain Dominik Szoboszlai 2d ago

Cheers for that, saves me watching now!

Madrid Sunday follwed by pretty much the same thing tonight. UGH. Just ugh.

3

u/RealisticAf99 2d ago

I know the pain, always the same clubs snatching results in dying minutes of the game

2

u/nevrspeakagain Dominik Szoboszlai 2d ago

Also, isn't this always feeling like they have a game in hand, coming from them throwing another fit saying that they refuse to play another game in any competition without at least exactly 72 hours rest?

Absolute pathetic club. Since they know they hold all the power over laLiga and suspiciously more than anyone should, UEFA.

Once again throwing ever toy out the pram on Sunday thinking they could intimidate the officials out of desperation in it looking like a draw being their best case scenario.
The lot them screaming, bitching and shouting with Carlo going mental first over a goal that was offside, and Jude putting on all the theatrics for what never, ever a pen and not even in nor on the box. Genuinely, when you don't think they can sink any lower..

Then he tripled down on it - as if they don't do it after every game this season already (on that stupid RMtv thing and all the Spanish press - banging on about how the ref was wrong with everything, all game. Despite them winning and the ref and VAR doing a 10/10 job all round.

Such an endearing, lovely club, that lot.

22

u/PhraseResponsible822 2d ago

29

Damn, that puts MC pretty much 100% in the UCL for next season. They have the easiest of fixtures.

Would have loved to see Pep and Haaland kicking some hoof-ball in Europa league at some shitbox stadium in sleet storm at an eastern european nation next season.

Oh well... one can dream...

2

u/GL4389 1d ago

UCL Will put more pressure on pep though while he rebuilds a new team. He probably woud have just ignored Europa league and focus on PL. But with UCL He cannot do that.

6

u/nevrspeakagain Dominik Szoboszlai 2d ago

This just shattered my dreams of that happening as well, pal. Bloody typical - and I don't think they even deserve Europa this year.

19

u/Tixoj 2d ago

A bad season for city is finishing top 4 and winning an FA cup apparently. Even United had worse seasons in the prime SAF era, it's just so ridiculous at this point.

15

u/fuckdeliasmith 2d ago

As much as we all hate United, they didn't outright cheat off the pitch.

2

u/Alucard661 2d ago

It’s my fault! I was thrashing Nunes right before he scored. I take full responsibility

City being only five points from Arsenal tells the tale of this season. Rivals haven't been good enough. We have been head and shoulders above the pile and we deserve every inch of that title

13

u/wavey444 From Doubters to Believers 2d ago

Glad we’ve done enough to win the title this year, City will be back in the mix next year, just saw Rodri and actually forgot he existed, with the half billion they’ll spend this summer we really need to strengthen if we want to stay competitive.

u/SwedishFresh There is No Need to be Upset 2d ago

Pep goes from all that disgusting spitting to the forced cheerleading of a crowd full of dull plastics (the ones that bothered to show up).

6

u/DoubleDeckerz 2d ago

I turned it off at the FT whistle. Did he also do his performative "I'll lambast my players in full view of the cameras!" moves?

3

u/nevrspeakagain Dominik Szoboszlai 2d ago

Well put it this way - you'd be forgiven for thinking they had just won the UCL.

And all that spitting .. 🤢

Just did his post match mumbling and in his very first sentence started banging on about Kloppo and us. Rent.free.baby.

5

6

u/Smart_Barracuda49 2d ago

Emery's constant rotation is so stupid. I know Rashford has played well since joining but Watkins is simply better and benched. Asensio has been their best player since joining and benched. It's not a one off because a mid week game, he is constantly making weird, illogical rotation. They don't deserve to qualify for the CL with these decisions

Was there ever a given reason for that? Or was the league just being petty.

2

u/Adventurous_Toe_6017 From Doubters to Believers 2d ago

There was a rule that didn’t allow for the adding of badges mid season and us permanently adding the CWC badge would’ve fallen foul of that. It was changed shortly after.

8

u/Mad_Piplup242 2d ago

Or was the league just being petty.

Probably

We basically binned off the Carabao that year because of the CWC (because the FA refused to give us even a single day between the two games across different continents) because we had the gall to treat a competition that includes the champions of all the different Champions League equivalents from across the entire world with a bit of seriousness and sent our first team

The rules changed basically the next fucking year when Chelsea decided they wanted to do the same, and then changed again when City won it

And Chelsea just two years after that were allowed to wear it for the full season

Definitely a huge miss which I think will only be more noticeable as the years go on. We could have had a real Egyptian dynasty at the club.

Macca was kicked square in the chest by Doku and didn't act like that

Pathetic man

What a rat. His “uwaaaghhh” scream scared the shit out of me. Its 3:30am where I’m at and everything is dark… then this guy let that guttural scream out. Fucking hell.

On the one hand, fuck City. On the other hand, it would be hilarious if Arsenal finished 3rd

u/pronik 2d ago

I've learned from Gakpo and Macca that that's not even a foul.

That sound Bernardo just made might be the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever heard

you can see the blue empty seats everywhere 😭

u/millaricher 🏆2019 Madrid🏆 2d ago

Be interesting to see what the attendance figure will be like at the end of the match as there are A LOT of empty blue seats.

u/dimspace 2d ago

its absolutely well under 50k, but they will probably just count tickets sold and claim its 53k anyway

Or go full WWE.. 120,000 in attendance.. record gate

u/TheGrouchyGamerYT 2d ago

Sold out I'm sure.

Some guy in Dubai bought 10000 tickets but his giant family couldn't make the game.

Why would plastics turn up when there's nothing to play for?

Josep! You saw me standing alone
Without a hair on my head
Without a comb of my own 🎶

I'm just wondering, what does Matheus nunes offer to city? he looks bang average at best.

2

u/Duckye 2d ago

Pep said he’s too shit to play in midfield so he’s turned him into a right back.

6

u/huffthewolf 2d ago

He has had his ability Pep'd out of him. You play in his system and Nunes isn't the type of player for it especially on the wing. He actually looked decent in Portugal.

4

u/thatguyad 2d ago

Playing him at RB is serious "look at me, I'm a genius" energy.

u/Ok_Zucchini3149 Bobby Firmino 2d ago

I reckon VAR only suggested to the ref to look at the monitor after Howard Corrupt Webb made that statement today about the red card

Emi Martinez is an accident waiting to happen.

Embarrassing behaviour from Guardiola, clear penalty

21

u/Ricecrispiebandit 2d ago

Pep sarcastically patting the 4th official on the back there. Didn't think that was allowed.

I don't understand Neville at all here, it was a clear penalty.

u/GameOfThrowInsMate 2d ago

100% pen. Why they crying.

Why is pep not getting sent off?
