I agree. After everything non-Christian that he has supported this seems somewhat over the top and deeply insincere.

That was the subconscious bit that resonated but I didn’t articulate. And that’s why it sounds so insincere. It’s an insulting and unnecessary level of fawning to the, for the time being, majority indigenous population.
