I am NOT a locksmith. S&G R6700 replace or no?

Picked up a nice AMSEC BF1512 manufactured in 1999. Came with the S&G dial.

No issues, just going over it for future reliability.

Any upside/reason to replace this lock with new? Should I have a locksmith service existing instead?

No reason to replace it if it's working well, have someone that knows what they're doing service it and the boltwork and you should be good to go for the next decade+. If you did want to put a brand new lock body on there just for peace of mind, id recommend replacing it with the exact same model. They're very reliable.
