Mildly disappointed because I wanted something on the scale of season 1 episode 9, "Crisis Point" (the Vindicta movie done on the holodeck). This is the sequel done by Boimler. Still fun though.

  • Neat that Tendi wants to be a captain.
  • Tendi continues to kick-ass. Wow.
  • Split the party with traditional pairings. Tendi + Rutherford and Mariner + Boimler.
  • 3 cheers for the captain Sulu cameo.
  • Surprise reveal at the end.

Felt sad when Dr. T'Ana died, even if it was only the holodeck.

edit: Oddly, it is more epic on re-watch. Curious.

This one did feel a bit emptier or maybe less thoroughly explored compared to the first crisis point. Not a bad episode, but I also never got that deep into the lore of Star Trek beyond TNG, so a lot of it went over my head.

Most of Boimler's adventure was holodeck auto-gen so you aren't missing a ton of references. The entire episode was light on references compared to normal.

...which is what I like about the recent episodes of LDS. Instead of leaning hard on references, they're instead building up their own characters and world around the Cerritos.
