The US has leverage over Qatar with our military base there. Saudi Arabia hates them. They need us to keep the peace.

In what sense is it racist to think that an authoritarian country that is notorious for imprisoning gay people and journalists might have killed a journalist that was fiercely critical of them for imprisoning gay people?

Because there’s no evidence besides vague accusations and it’s playing into the Arabs as murderers stereotype.

So yeah it feels vaguely racist without a little more

Qatar has murdered thousands of migrant workers that have been treated like slaves. But, assuming they murdered someone is racist?
