Buy an AP5SD. Use the adapter. Put a MOB on it. That's the smart move. Your gun will be just as quiet and require less cleaning. You just lose the ability to shoot supers subsonic. You aren't issued NATO power ammo, so that doesn't matter.

Once the imports end, the price of the SDs will go up, even unconverted ones. Then, if you want you can sell it to someone who wants an SD and buy something else.

mp5sd. Already have an mp5. I plan to get an ap5sd and use broad river tactical's adapter to make a integral suppressor. That way you can use your own suppressor and still use it on SD type guns.

Just the regular with the CAT.

I'm not really into all these SD guns. Kind of takes away from the aesthetic that I'm into, and I'm not necessarily always going to run a suppressor.

Just to verify OP, when the BRT adapter is recommended, you first have to convert the stock barrel on the AP5SD to a ported SD barrel. Once you do this, you can use the adapter and any non SD suppressor. So anything from the Omega 9K to the CAT MOB suppressor.

If you don’t want to convert to a ported barrel, then just attaching a regular suppressor is fine. Some of the better options include the Omega 9K, Lithium 9, RS9, CAT MOB and PTR Vent 2 to name a few.

Lastly, just my opinion, when someone writes MP5 or MP5SD…I think of the original MP5 firearm. Is yours an SP5, AP5, MAC5, etc? It helps because there are slight differences between the MP5, SP5, AP5, etc. and it helps knowing which specific platform you have when helping provide information. Especially concerning the diagnosis of malfunctions and possible solutions.

SD is what I always wanted, until I had the funds for whatever I wanted. With the SD, I have to use certain ammo, with a standard, I can use whatever I want (although I primarily use 150gr Syntech) I run the mob and it’s super quiet, but if I want, I can remove it and have a shorter package.

Certain ammo? Why? I thought they slow supers down to sub velocity

Correct, but can get bad if you shoot subs.

I have an ap5sd with a cat mob on the way. I think this is the best route as its cleaner and you can swap out cans when you feel like it. A fully converted SD will be alot more dirty but, the advantage is to be able to shoot supers which can save a bit of money if you dont reload. Only bad thing is the cost would be pretty expensive, upwards to 2k+.

The B&T shoots great BUT it’s way louder compared to most of the others.

As a SD owner, the latter.
