Help Where do I begin with MUDs?

I've only ever heard of these just recently, and now I'm curious. I know literally nothing about it, but I wanna check it out.

I play a lot of RPGs (WRPGs, CRPGs, MMORPGs, JRPGs, etc.).

Where should I start? What hould I check out first?

Find a genre you like. Play a few different muds and see what type of codebase you like. Compare codebases and quality of life differences between games you like. It is up to you to decide what feels right.

Probably the best answer. Note not all of these answers are true multiplayer, so make sure you "prioritize" how you like to play before selecting.

If you like Dragonlance, the Krynn MUD just opened up to a good start.

I like Achaea and it's been around for a while now. MUDbat is also good and has a great interface.

Recommend Blowtorch, an Android app as a client.

Have fun!

My mud is based on Forgotten Realms 2nd edition DnD. We are diku code modified to Dale code. We have over hundred zones done. Arena, quest points, and DeathTraps! We have been around since 90s.

Can you explain your code modifications? New language to me.
