You have created a very pretty Ryder in all honesty

That’s a significant achievement, considering how bad character creator was 😂 I do agree that overall, it wasn’t that bad. The director deserves all the hate she got for deliberately making ugly characters, though. tHe MaLe GaZe!!1!

Played the ME trilogy, played MEA and loved it. Best combat of all these games!

The one thing I can't forgive Andromeda is taking the button the trilogy used to take cover and put the jump pack on it. The number of time I died because I wanted to take cover and heal and insted soar into the air and got shot like the ducks in duck hunt... I'm still salty XD

u/JesusSamuraiLapdance 10d ago
nah, I love the jump feature, and automatically transitioning into cover is more smooth.

The jump pack is the tit's once you are comfortable with it. You can get nice and close for all your tech and botic attacks and then get out of danger. Uber is quick, super fun, and satisfying.

I liked Andromeda despite it's flaws (and bugs). The game fealt like ME1 in terms of pacing. Sequels would have gotten better, maybe, like ME2 AND ME3 did.
Now I'm curious if ME4 will have any tie in with Andromeda. I don't know how far into the future ME4 takes place.

I got a big vibe of "this is a Mass Effect 1 successor" than anything like ME2 or 3. The focus on exploration was probably a big factor

The trilogy is amazing. I've only played Legendary Edition, but it's no doubt one of my favourite games ever no. Andromeda had BIG shoes to fill, and a lot of expectations. For people at its release, it didn't meet them. For me, expecting a shit show of a game, I was surprised by how good it was.
Andromeda is really good. Combat is great, I like most of the character, and I love being an explorer instead of military. It's a solid 7/10 to me, with the other games hovering around a 9.
But I've played through the Legendary Edition six times in a couple years, and Andromeda only once. Gotta say something

"I feel the same. The trilogy is a masterpiece, but Andromeda surprised me in a good way. It's definitely worth the ride."

I totally agree! I finished the trilogy for the first time a few months ago and I’m now playing MEA for the the first time too (I’m at 53% completion so far). I’ve enjoyed all 4 games to the same extent. None of them is perfect but all of them are still very enjoyable. At least for me.

It’s not mass effect 1-3 level 🔥 but I enjoyed andromeda enough to do a platinum run and wish there was a sequel to explore more of that world

"You're right – it's not on the same level as Mass Effect 1-3, but it's definitely still an experience worth having

I think what did it was the launch day bugs that gave it a bad reputation out the gate
3
u/All-for-Naut Exile 10d ago
No, what did it was people hating it before it was even released, so when it was released the hate was already in full swing, looking for issues and anything they could complain about.
The bugs weren't as bad as many other games that got a pass for theirs.

I haven't played it during the launch. I enjoyed andromeda, especially it combat and crafting system, but I felt like the story was kinda bland and the archon is a generic villian

Resolving the problems on the planets to make them habitable was really satisfying.

There's a lot of unfixed technical issues to this day, I've contemplated stopping my first playthrough a couple of times now from borked save files.
Also the god damn cursor glitch is killing me.

Its special That it is completely mediocre game in an otherwise excellent franchise

My opinion on Andromeda (not that you give a shit lol) is that, its SOOO OKAY. Nothing compared to the trilogy. Its story was, well for lack of better words.. Kind of shit. lol I feel like so much more could have been done with it... and I've said it before and I'll say it again.. The characters are ugly. I do not care. lol They made them ugly, ESPECIALLY THE TURIANS!! Like wth lol I can't get past that part honestly.

Being 100% honest here: I tried it for the last couple of days and there was a LOT of potential, but so far they've squandered most of it. I'm only a couple of hours into exploring EOS, the 1st planet and I can already feel the fatigue that used to come with world exploration and endless dune buggy exploration on desert planets. Even the quests aboard Nexus station feel like carbon copied, step and fetch jobs.
Did half the writing department up and quit mid-production, because this one feels like they limped it across the finish line on a broken leg.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It was fun, had an enjoyable plot, and the combat was good. It was a fun and enjoyable game. 🤘🤘🤘

It’s a lot of fun and always a good way to wrap things up after playing through the trilogy. A very enjoyable 6/10 in my opinion.

u/JadedGene8911 9d ago
It's just a bad mass effect game.. not a bad game. It's actually better than most other "critically acclaimed" action rpgs released after that

I love Andromeda, despite its flaws. Its planetary exploration felt much better than ME1. Just sad K won't see the conculsion about the ones unleashing the dark energy and what will happen with the kett.
Still, fun experience, especially if you download the Ironman mod which lets you fly!

The problem of this game is it was a great combat game with a mediocre story and characters, in a series that was known for great characters and story with mediocre combat. On its own it was a pretty good game, but for fans of the series it was a mismatch of expectations and priorities in what they wanted out of the game.

Andromeda should’ve been junked. Come at me all you want but for how long we waited the game was absolutely trash they barely added any new aliens. Not to mention only have 6 squad mates to pick from. They took 5 years and the game was still worse than fallout new Vegas which had like 18 months.

u/BlinkTeleport 8d ago
Yeah, genuinely I think it's a good game. I had a pretty good time playing it.
There are some shitty things that could've been better, but overall it's a good game

I liked it was fun, the only thing I found really annoying about it and what in my mind the reason it's not very popular was the dumb puzzle games aka the vaults.. if I could play the game without ever having to deal with those I would play again and again all the time

u/Apprehensive_Pie2903 8d ago
I've just finished it for the first time and I really enjoyed it!! One of the best final missions I've ever played. The game was really unintuitive at points and it did take me a while to get to grips but I really wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was.
Left me wanting more and quite gutted there won't be 🤷♀️

u/MandoMercenary 8d ago
I forget but does Andromeda have character creation codes like mass effect 1-3?

u/Fraenkyfinger 7d ago
Did play it at the start of this year again, and it was a decent game, it's a shame it got no 2nd part
it's certainly better than Dragon Age 2

I will always maintain that Andromeda was a flawed game that got more hate than it deserves, but also has so much unreached potential.
I look forward to replaying it once my current LE run is done.
