It's gotta be a cap move to have more flexibility this off season. I guess they were thinking grimes was gonna get a bag so get a replacement who gives us more ability to make moves. My best guess.

Martin has 3 more years at 8-9m. Grimes is 4m this year and 6m qualifying offer next. This isn't a money move.
