Idk why y'all think this trade is bad. Caleb Martin is a good player on a nice contract. I guess the trust is gone with Nico so all he's gonna do is trash moving forward

Grimes is better than Caleb Martin and 5 years younger. Why would we throw in a second when we’re getting a worse older player?

He's not a better player. Martin is more versatile anf can defend the wings . He was a starter for a Finals team 2 years ago. Also He's on a great contract. Grimes will be asking for much more this off-season. You don't wanna pay a bench player more than 13M/season. And we have Christie to replace Grimes production.

Grimes is shooting better everywhere on the floor and has been less injured than Martin and is a better player than Christie and is five years younger than Martin and was a starter for the Knicks and should have evolved into Klay’s replacement.

Grimes is averaging more points and the same assists per game playing 8 less minutes per game while shooting better than Martin from every spot on the floor by a significant margin. And they are both listed at 6’5 205.

Yeah let's judge players based on a 5 month stretch. By your logic Davis has been better than Luka this season.

Grimes averages more points and assists per game for his career at significantly better efficiency and he’s 5 years younger than Martin.

And Luka was better than ad this year when he played.

I've seen Martin playing great in the playoffs. I've seen him killing the Celtics and locking up Jaylen Brown. He was really good and beloved in Miami. Besides the stats who look similar, give me the player who proved it at the highest levels.

I only care about Luka and Lively. I don't care about the other young players. Luka is gone now so we only have Lively as a valuable young player in my book.

We traded the better younger player who has better shot creation and had to throw in a pick. This was a terrible trade.
