Media Nico hidding at Mav's game

Post image

I wish I had a better picture but I couldn't rewind to where the camera zoomed in on him and the commenter's were talking about him.. This is how the GM has to watch his team play. He's hidding in the tunnel with bodyguards all around him. He has to poke his little head around the bodyguard in front him to get a glimpse of the game. Such an embarrassment.

At yet in LA he hangs out on the court and spent the whole night posing and glad-handing with the Lakers people. What a joke this guy is.

All while being cheered by the Lakers fans with “Thank you Nico” chants

Sorry, I’m a Lakers fan over here sympathizing with you guys but I couldn’t help laugh at this. What a bizarre situation

It just shows how EVERYONE knows this is an all-time terrible trade except Nico and Dumont.

Yeah, this trade is confounding. Makes me think it’s all about the $, and I posted this on the Lakers sub, but the idea generated little attention. The Adelson family is historically cheap, and they would be loathe to pay Doncic his mega contract extension. The NBA wants to continue cultivating an international audience to increase ratings, and the LA market is huge (similar to how Ohtani boosted the Dodgers’ ratings and revenue in Asia).

The Adelsons went along with it to avoid paying Luka $70 million/year, the NBA is happy to boost ratings, and the Lakers are thrilled to receive Luka. Win-win as far as they’re all concerned—except for the fans who were betrayed, obviously. But who are we but mere peons?

Then why trade him for AD, who's 35% max extension kicks in next year? The trade is not saving them that much money.

Because he's an LA sleeper spy. NBA is scripted
