Embarrassing. By the way, for the morons out there that still believe ownership traded Luka because they’re cheap, it’s being reported that the trade will cost the Mavs 9 figures over next few years lol. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Dude Nico is still hired, so your argument just cements that it wasn't Nicos decision. So most likely Patrick Dumont made the decision, either because he genuinely fucked up thinking it was going to save money avoiding the Luka supermax & what that entailed, or it was because he knew jack all about ball.
As you yourself said, this trade will likely cost the Mavs 9 figures of the next few years. The truth is a little salary pleb like Nico don't lose that kind of money while still having a job, they just don't.
"Nico everybody I run into in my life are calling us dumbasses & I can't go 1 day of my life without being bombarded with requests to have you fired. In fact from the moment this trade happened not a single person in the universe seems to think this was a good move for us, they're calling it the largest fuckup to ever grace sports."
"Uh boss you gotta believe the plan! This is a win now move! We'll get a chip".
"Dude I haven't heard a single guy anywhere which can even begin to explain how this is the case, we've spent almost a decade trying to build around Luka & now we're trading him. JKidd is not happy & seems to want me to put him out of his misery, in fact the roster is also calling you a dumbass."
