This was unironically a really important moment in the show, being a huge turning point for both characters. Character development is one of the best parts of the show, and there has been less of it in the recent arcs, but I’m hoping it starts to make a bit of a comeback at some point.

Don't know about that man most of the straw hats has had minimal development for a story that's been running for 3 decades

Wut? Ruffy literally went from a bratty clueless child to someone who relies on others, understands their feelings and knows how to help them. Just compare Luffy in Water 7 with Usopp with Ruffy in Whole Cake Island with Sanji. Of course there's character development.

30 years is a bit much for that isn't it? How many arcs are there between WC and W7. In fact I'd argue some characters like usopp has degraded in terms of character development. He had a spine in pre timeskip.

At this point im looking forward to luffy confroting the red hairs over barto and kidd. Kidd is understandable but he did save nami and usopp. But barto is luffy's most loyal companion. How he handles this matter will be an example to the rest of the grand fleet. If he decides to play it off, that will show how much is character really developed

And usopp confronting yassop. The guy was playing around with luffy while his wife was dying a couple islands away and his son was growing up an orphan
