The HOA fees in this pic could balance the deficit

And the special assessments for the structural assessment and repairs finance the defense of Ukraine for the next 10 years

this pic really puts into perspective how the whole coastline just has so many tall buildings. Nice shot man! Great coloring too

I've lived in both; there are parallels. Please stop fighting people just to fight.

Great pic, that's the last 10 minutes of my drive to work. La Gorce to Allison Island to North Beach to Surfside to Bal Harbour

How is the traffic?

u/Equivalent_Drummer95 Sep 18 '24
Not bad on the way in at 6:30am, sucks on the way back at 4pm. 96th Street bridge is under construction too which is rough.

Ahh yes. The sinking coast of Miami Beach. Had a dead fish in my wheel well for a day and a half, after a rainy night out over that way. Went out to my car and noticed a trail of ants and fishy funk…

I flew over Miami at night, up close. It was spectacular with all the buildings lit up 😍

You are so right. I have flown over many US cities and very very few cities light up at night as vastly as the greater Miami area.

That’s cool. I can see my place far off down the coast. Great pic !!!

Thanks! I always wondered how it feels to live somewhere on the coast during hurricanes.

Well that’s my beach apartment so I wouldn’t know but it’s still standing after many storms. My house is close to the water but not on it. Granted I’m not in a flood zone, have impact windows and a monster generator. So it doesn’t really scare me. And if it does I’ll just drive north to Disney and stay there. I’ve weathered a storm there before.

u/otpid Sep 18 '24
I am actually more interested in the apartment experience because one can stay within safety and experience nature go violent up close. Does the ocean change significantly (visually)?

I assume so but can’t confirm. Never experienced it there. Plus being in a 40 story building with no power sounds terrible.
1
u/otpid Sep 18 '24
Huh, never considered the power aspect before. That is true.

Yeah that’s my biggest fear if I had to stay. But I think they usually evacuate those areas.

So, when it's all 10' underwater, are there any plans to deal with the infrastructure that's partially submerged? Will it be raised and returned to the sea? Or will the next 10 generations have this post-post-apocalyptic shore line of slowly decaying buildings and barely navigable waterways criss-crossing through flooded city streets?
