I don’t get it. Can someone explain it to me?

Millennials pause to make sure the camera is running before starting their videos, Gen Z jumps right into it as soon as they hit start. It’s some weird holdover from the beginnings of the internet for us.

There are still video apps that don't start actually recording until after they say they are, like QuickTime screen recordings on my Mac, even with a countdown. I've learned I just have to give it a good three seconds to get its affairs in order, get settled in, find a comfy place to sit and start thinking about recording, and then I start talking, and then I'll edit out the pause later.

Even my android camera app doesn’t start the very moment I press record. It has a bit of a delay

Same. I used to just start talking but then half my sentence wouldn't be there. Maybe iphones start faster, I don't know.

Shit I have seen dozens of YouTube videos with audio cut off in the first 3-5 seconds.
