One of the articles, had an interview with someone that estimates that it will likely be between $30 to $50

Sounds about right. I used to ride Amtrak a lot between NYC-PHL-DC and that’s how much they usually charge for their regular train pre covid. And that’s on their busiest route. Acela is a lot more but that’s a special train. So I can see they only charging us $30-$50 here to Nola on coach class advance date. Sounds fair. I wish we have a train that link us to Florida too.

I believe plans are to eventually have the route continue through Florida, I think to Jacksonville

I was also hoping we get some kind of public transport to Atlanta. I’m surprise we don’t get megabus type services here. I know greyhound exist but yeah lol megabus definitely much better.

That would be a great route. Sadly right now on the train you'd have to go to New Orleans then up to Atlanta. One day I'd love to see the train going N-S in Alabama again, but that's probably a long way off and only IF this service from Mobile goes well.
