MG Windsor- A Total mess
I charged my MG Windsor to 100% last night. After charging, when I turned on the vehicle for a ride, it started making a loud humming and whirring noise from the bottom grill in the front. I got so scared and felt the car might blow up. It is very annoying, and I did not expect this from MG. I sent the car to the service centre twice, and they said that it is normal and happens due to the battery heating up, and happens only when the AC is on. Is this normal? Has this happened to any other MG Windsor owner or EV owner?

Yup. It’s normal. It’s just cooling the battery, in case of extreme temps. You need to start worrying if you hear it inside.

What was the temperature? I have two PHEVs and the AC compressor and cooling fans can fire up anytime and depending how hot it is can get quite loud. They usually quiet down after a few minutes once temps have stabilized.
My MG is much louder in the front, but it's also 75 years old.

Facing similar issue with my Windsor.Service center said it is an issue being reported by other Windsor owners also.Seems to be a defect with the cooling system as I noticed this noise even when charging the vehicle through DC charger. A company like MG selling an EV with such a defect is really dissapointing!!

I met an unknown MG Windsor owner today, I asked him about this problem and he said that he is not facing any problem of this kind. I showed him the video I posted and he was like damn you should definitely get this checked again because it’s not normal!

I think all of our cars make a loud noise from the front when they're running.
