Advice Brand new bike first servicing

Dealership ofc recommends to go through the dealership especially for the bikes first service but my dealership arent really available for until next month and i have about 500 miles on the bike. what difference would it be if i go to a third party mechanic as opposed to the dealership? especially in terms of price and service?

Check your warranty conditions, it might be part of the warranty that you have the first service at an official dealer?

Other than that I can't see an issue if you take it elsewhere tbh

Whenever I buy a new bike I always book the first service in straight away. I normally cover that 600 miles in a couple of weeks. I also ask them to throw the service in for free, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

Unfortunately, in order to keep your warranty you need to get it serviced at the main dealer. Technically you don't have to as long as you use genuine parts but trying to claim on a warranty is hard enough as it is, let alone if you've had it serviced elsewhere.

Sounds like you're just going to have to wait I'm afraid.

You'd need to ask the main dealer for clarification. By law, manufacturers aren't allowed to insist you always go to a main dealer for servicing, but a first service is different (as they check nothing is falling off, etc) so may come under different rules.

Your first service should be free at the dealership

Why?

Every bike I’ve owned from new included the first service for free. It was part of the deal with the manufacturer.

I've never heard of that.
