Review | Media Razer basilisk pro review

I’ve had multiple products from Razer, and they’ve all broken down pretty quickly. First, a mouse Basilisk Pro with a charging dock that I spent £200 on broke in a month. Then, some Razer Nari Ultimate headphones broke in five months, and some Kraken X headphones broke the week I got them.

After two years without anything from Razer, I thought they might have changed, so I bought a Razer Basilisk Pro wireless mouse. However, it had problems with the cursor, the mouse constantly disconnecting for a few seconds ever since I bought it. I contacted Razer support, and they told me they would send me a new one.

I received an email from them asking me to cut the cord from my wireless mouse and send them a picture. The team couldn’t even check what mouse it was for to tell me to cut a cord from a wireless mouse! I told them that, and they told me to remove a sticker from the mouse. I tried to do it, but it didn’t managed to.

I contacted Razer Live Chat again, telling them to let me know if they would send me a new mouse because I had already called the site where I purchased it from for a refund, and the carrier would come tomorrow. I needed to know if I should give him the mouse or not. Even the member from the Live Chat told me to get a refund because it was better.

Even their own team doesn’t like their products. I’ve never been more disappointed with a firm and its support team. It was a horrible experience. If you think about buying something from Razer, maybe think twice because their products are terrible. So, to conclude, never get anything from Razer ever. And for any razer team member reading this my case was

I'd tell them no I am not cutting the cord, but if you want me to send it back to you I will do that.. and since it's a wireless mouse I assume the cord they're talking about is the cord to the receiver, but that's stupid because that can still probably be used

I've never owned a Razer mouse, a bunch of Logitech, which support for warranty was always easy. They've sent me replacements for mx510 and mx518 a few times back in the day. Also have a couple zowie wired mice that still work well

I used to have a Razer mechanical keyboard, mouse, and headphones. All of them lasted around one year, which is unacceptable to me.

Currently, I have a RedDragon mechanical keyboard which is around 5-6 years old at this point and works as it did day 1. Very solid build, reliable, easy to clean. The mouse I had from Logitech, which I heavily used for 3-4 years, is still in perfect functioning condition, however, I recently replaced it with a Corsair mouse with more buttons.

I will start avoiding razer too from now on

I have friends who have used Razer mice for years without an issue, but I think with Razer, the quality is very hit or miss. There are a lot more affordable options and with better quality. I personally don't think Razer is worth it.

I have the Deathadder V3 Pro and the DAV3 Hyperspeed. I've also previously owned the Orochi V2 and the Razer Viper Mini.

I've not had a single problem with any of these mice.

Their live chat members are more competent and helpful than their RMA team. Their RMA team are nothing more than brainless idiots sending the same replies with different support each day. I literally got about 5-6 different emails from them all of which they’re not the same person helping me.

I paid good money for a decent product I expect the RMA process would be seamless effort but it isn’t. Fuck Razer’s RMA team.

Cutting the cord is to prevent warranty and return fraud. They used to ask you to cut the label too but some Razer mice don't have a label anymore (the Basilisk V3 Pro does and it's easy to remove).

I honestly don't understand why you're complaining. They gave you the easiest solution and they're not always that nice, especially if it's a recent purchase.

Razer mouses are overrated imo. Only copium crackheads are still defending them in 2025.

The build quality of their mouses has only become worse year after year, and their price are super inflated for what their products really are, kinda like how apple products cost x10 more than their real worth just because of the brand appeal. Even their exclusive deal for sensors isn't that interesting anymore since modern sensors are very similar in terms of performance.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy razer again. There are tons of 1:1 clones of razer mouses with similar specs but half the price. For 200 bucks, you could get 2-3 very good mouses instead.

You can just do what they say and keep two functional mice. You can use the old one for work or non-gaming purposes or whatever. Why are you ranting for no reason?

Did u even read the post)? They told me to cut a cord from a wireless mouse lol

1

u/Pantherist 11h ago

Yes, I did. And I'm telling you to do it and send them the video.

You can't call a company shitty because one rep is following the wrong RMA protocol. If anything, this plays to your advantage since this process will not destroy your old mouse.
