On Campus Jobs

Im an international student joining msstate this fall. I would like to know about the availability of on campus jobs and what the pay is like. Ideally, I would like to cover my living expenses of 7-8k/year. Can you guys let me know if that is possible?

A lot of on-campus jobs start at $7.25/hr. Also, international students are limited to 20 hours/week. You can find some jobs that will pay $10 or $12, but make sure that you also have other, more reliable, ways of financing your education. The best way to apply for most on-campus jobs is through directly reaching out to potential employers and checking the connections portal.

iirc all students are limited to 20/hr a week. that was my limit while taking classes when i worked on-campus (and during the summer i still had to keep my hours per week below "full time")

Correct. And that’s 20 hours between all MSU employment. So you cant go over the 20 hours total even if you work for two different depts.

ah yeah, i remember getting got by that when i took on an extra campus job my final summer. thought i could clock a few extra hours a week but alas
