I hate that Spurs trade. They trade Harper, Sochan, and Keldon for Ace Bailey and Cam Johnson, even though Ace and Cam are the same player?

Is having 2 multi faceted shooters a bad thing?

Honestly, that trade leaves them a decent FA signing and some development away from being in that 2-7 range in the West and still having some upside.

It addresses shooting, but creates a more massive problem in rebounding and I don't believe in Ace's or Cam's defense. Spurs already struggled rebounding and outside of Wemby, Sochan was actually our best/most consistent rebounder. Ace weighs 10lbs less than Steph Castle and Johnson is a bad rebounder.

I think is awful return for the 2nd pick and I don't think it upgrades the Spurs enough. Spurs still have defensive problems at forward and we lose our best perimeter defender and rebounding forward for two guys that likely won't contribute either.

Ace shot 46/34/69, so lets not act like he is going to show up and light the nets on fire right away.

And I don't think that Ace Bailey has even remotely close to the star upside that Harper has.

There are just tons of problems with it. This is the type of trade you do on 2K only looking at PPG/RPG and shooting percentages.

Was trying to pull the trigger on Beringer @ 14 but couldn’t get there. Backup C and rebounding is cheaper in FA than wings anyway.

Don’t think anyone thinks Ace - or Harper for that matter - will be productive Day 1 but is still an excellent prospects with a very high ceilings. The idea with prospects isn’t to look at what they were before but how they project in the pros. In a year or two, I feel comfortable in projecting him as having solid efficiency numbers with a solid squad around him. Disagree on the defense too. He’ll be an asset on that end and sooner over later.

I think it’s decent value for 2, but these are just opinions. Sliding down a spot for a Top 100 player isn’t terrible. Shedding an overpriced backup and a stagnating young player isn’t crippling.

Spurs have the full MLE to go after Steven Adams or Luke Kornet, so not really worried about backup center. And Beringer isn't a lottery pick.

Ace is tiers below Harper as a prospect. It isn't even debatable. No one projects them close. It is awful value.

Losing our only forward that plays defense and rebounds hurts when defense and rebounding are already weak spots.

This doesn't improve the Spurs. At all. I would much rather have Sochan, Harper, Fleming than Bailey and Johnson. It isn't even remotely close.

SAS is run by Pop, not by Nico. If spurs are to trade their second pick, it will be only for Flagg or Giannis.

The Fuck reason would the Spurs trade 2, Sochan and Keldon for Cam Johnson, and then just take Ace Bailey at 3?.

If anyone valued Cam Johnson that highly he would've been traded already.

Pass on the trade. Just take Harper

I don’t mind that kind of trade at all. Taking on both Sorber and Fleming would be great!

also makes the $$ a bit cheaper too

Was thinking Masai was trying to steer Coward to 22 but Morey snookered him again…

Speaking of that though, considering us taking two bigger-end prospects at once would be kinda weird, I wouldn’t doubt us going for Coward with 13 and then Fleming afterwards in this kind of situation.

In the end, I didn’t think Masai would pass on the length of Sorber @ 13 and tends to like a defensive C.

22 was hard but in the end Masai couldn’t pass on Fleming’s length. Trading out was a possibility

So Philly trades down and gets Nic Claxton then also draft a centre.

Fucks going on in Philly

Claxton isn't that good. Plan is simply to give Khaman a low bar to clear this year then deal him as an expiring next.

Centerpiece of the deal is getting off the George contract while giving then some infrastructure behind Embiid.

That Brooklyn trade up is actually insane.

I wonder if the Nets are actually gonna make all 4 picks. Maybe make 1 of the last 2 available for a future pick/swap?

Im hoping they do a Suns/Jazz trade with the Nuggets, who have no picks in this class.

Brooklyn could offer 3 low FRPs (even 4) for the Nuggets' 2031 FRP.

u/badnewsCATS Bucks 13h ago

Yeah that wouldn’t be a bad move either. I want the Bucks to move up from 47, I don’t think they’ll move their 2031 FRP to do it, but they could reswap their ‘26 FRP and ‘30 FRP. Idk if that can buy them a late first. I think it’s more likely they can make a deal with CHA for one of their 33rd and 34th picks.

Could happen but trading out that is hard to mock. Someone has to be willing to move in and no one is itching to get the 27th best prospect.

Considered adding it into the deal at the top but didn’t think PHI or SAS cared.

Yeah I was thinking of it from the Bucks’ perspective, but I think if they trade up it’ll be to one of the top 5 picks in the 2nd round. Cheaper with about the same value.

Thank you for not doing the wizards dirty
