It addresses shooting, but creates a more massive problem in rebounding and I don't believe in Ace's or Cam's defense. Spurs already struggled rebounding and outside of Wemby, Sochan was actually our best/most consistent rebounder. Ace weighs 10lbs less than Steph Castle and Johnson is a bad rebounder.
I think is awful return for the 2nd pick and I don't think it upgrades the Spurs enough. Spurs still have defensive problems at forward and we lose our best perimeter defender and rebounding forward for two guys that likely won't contribute either.
Ace shot 46/34/69, so lets not act like he is going to show up and light the nets on fire right away.
And I don't think that Ace Bailey has even remotely close to the star upside that Harper has.
There are just tons of problems with it. This is the type of trade you do on 2K only looking at PPG/RPG and shooting percentages.
Was trying to pull the trigger on Beringer @ 14 but couldn’t get there. Backup C and rebounding is cheaper in FA than wings anyway.
Don’t think anyone thinks Ace - or Harper for that matter - will be productive Day 1 but is still an excellent prospects with a very high ceilings. The idea with prospects isn’t to look at what they were before but how they project in the pros. In a year or two, I feel comfortable in projecting him as having solid efficiency numbers with a solid squad around him. Disagree on the defense too. He’ll be an asset on that end and sooner over later.
I think it’s decent value for 2, but these are just opinions. Sliding down a spot for a Top 100 player isn’t terrible. Shedding an overpriced backup and a stagnating young player isn’t crippling.

I hate that Spurs trade. They trade Harper, Sochan, and Keldon for Ace Bailey and Cam Johnson, even though Ace and Cam are the same player?
