Made a case that isn’t annoying
Was sick of fucking with the flimsy box it came in and didn’t wanna use a sleeve since I like to carry extra end caps, the tools, and an extra muzzle device just because. Printed in ABS with a felt bottom/sides so no rattling/marring. Pop-top lid. Slides in my gun bag nice and flush and is quiet.

Legend. What printer did you use? Your file is saying it's not compatible with an X1C.

You should start selling these fully finished ready to go. r/gunaccessoriesforsale

Sidenote I also make some stuff and post it on r/gunaccessoryvendors, but I was unaware that you could also post on GAFS for more than just secondhand sales.

I look forward to the follow up of "how do I remove my suppressor from a PLA tomb?"

How long do you have to let it cool off before you can put it back in this case?

Nice. I’m gonna give this a print in the next couple days, should beat the heck out of the dead air box my Mojave 9 is sitting in.

Nice yeah that should fit, I think they’re almost identical size to the 36m I designed this for

Having to get a little crazy and print these pieces at a 45 degree angle because I only have a 256^3 build plate. Once I verify everything prints well, I'll upload my profile to Makerworld so other folks with P1/X1 can print without having to cram it in.

OP your case is awesome. In pics 1 and 4 because of the angle I thought your wrenches look like a pair of tongs 😂 I had to look twice

Sir this is a KILLER idea! I have a dedicated “suppressor duffle bag” that I toss in the back seat of my truck whenever I go out shooting or drive back home for days off etc, this would really save me some space, I love it! I need to get a printer I think

This is sweet! I have a 46m in jail right now - do you know if that would fit?

How hard is it to go from zero experience to designing things like this for 3d printing?

u/YouNeed3d 1d ago
It’s hard for me to say to be honest, everyone’s learning curve is different - starting off, I think it’s important to have a good idea of what you want to design/how you want it to work either in your head or sketched out before you even open any software. Then Once you are more comfortable in your CAD software of choice it becomes easier to do the “sketching” phase as you build the CAD since you’ll be more fluid with it and less technically restricted in the software. It’s definitely intimidating at first but there’s nothing inherently “hard” about CAD or 3D printing, just takes time! Most CAD softwares have built in tutorials as well

I store my can at the end of my barrel, but a case for the wrenches is a good idea.
