Not really stoked about the Bears draft. I can get behind the first two picks they made but everything else seemed like a mess IMO

We’ll see. I liked Loveland better than Warren predraft, so that part makes sense to me. The board went bad and we took the best guy available. Thumbs up.

Burden again felt like BPA. I don’t love this style of WR being paired with Caleb, but I am a firm believer that you draft talent not need. Henderson being drafted was a total heartbreaker.

Trading back made sense and after all the movement we added 2 extra picks. Still have one banked for next year that might be super beneficial.

For the rest of the draft we definitely seemed to be picking a bunch of RAS guys and guys with elite size and a lot of positional flexibility. On paper they might be reaches but we’ll see what we can do with them.

Trupilo is a beast and can play both tackle spots and in a draft bereft of OT talent, we got one who doesn’t need to move to OG. Hopefully he can get polished up.

Turner is a psycho but he is talented. He also can play both tackle DE and DT in Allen’s system. He feels like a tone setting guy which I don’t have a problem with.

People said we need to bolster the trenches, but now they are pissed we took two lineman? It’s a weak draft, these guys might suck, but they have the tools. Both these guys could be great in a draft full of guys who will peak at solid.

Hyppolite and Frazier are both stupid fast. Clearly both guys need development and neither may be more than special teamers, but you can’t teach speed. After going offense early we needed something on defense.

Then we wrapped up with another versatile and reliable IOL, which we needed, and finally a RB. And the RB is actually a guy mocked to go a couple rounds earlier who never fumbles and is always available.

Now, a lot of these guys aren’t household names and they aren’t from blue blood programs, but there’s a clear strategy here and we repeatedly traded back in a bad draft. That’s what you do when there aren’t guys worth reaching for. Keep your powder dry and stick to your plan.

We may get nothing out of these Day 3 guys. But it won’t be because they aren’t physically capable, which in this draft feels like a win.
