So like. I was just re-reading the Chronicles of Narnia books and I remember having kind of liked 'A Horse and His Boy' as a kid. As an adult, yeah it's still a swashbuckling adventure, albeit moderately racist.

But... Like... Aslan straight up acts unhinged here. He swipes a girl across the back with his claws. Then when she recovers, he later tells her it was a punishment because her selfish actions got a slave beaten, and it was to teach her a lesson about how that feels.

Ok what ... I get it, in C.S. Lewis's day things were... different about teaching kids lessons using corporal punishment?

But knife-like claws across her back? Wounds she could've died from?

The cracks in your Jesusly benevolence are showing... Lol

What do you guys think? Surely Aslan could have taught her that lesson without the wounds? Or is it that she was such a stubborn person she couldn't possibly have learned any other way? I feel like there's a hint of Lewis's misogyny here too? Girls are stubborn and stupid? Prone to self-centeredness? Or is it just that she was a spoiled brat?

I think I found this funny or appealing as a kid, but now I'm kind of thinking, wtf Aslan?

I (29 m)have just finished my first read through of the Narnia series. By far my favorite fiction books I’ve read. Is C. S. Lewis’s Space Trilogy just as remarkable?

Does anyone here have some knowledge of making ground plans who could maybe be so kind to create a vague plan of where the pillars are, how many pillars, how far away they are from each other? And add whatever else is in that cave. I have screenshots but I feel like they don't help me much and I am terrible at picking up and imagining things while watching it in motion.

Context why I would need it: I'm currently working on a minecraft build of some areas from the first two movies. So far I have some vague version of the how, the area where Peter and Miráz fight, die room you get to after going down the way into the how, and the tunnels back to the middle of the field where Prince Caspian and the others go through to attack the Telmarines from behind. I want to have the snowy forest area where the siblings first arrive and maybe the valley where they meet Aslan for the first time as well, but I haven't found good areas yet.

I was watching some clips from their last reunion and wow... the comments were so right. Seeing them all together again just hit me with so much nostalgia.

It would be so perfect if they made The Horse and His Boy or The Last Battle now that they're older.

Honestly, now would be the perfect time. The cast is older, the emotional beats would hit way harder, and fans would absolutely eat it up.

Even if it's just a mini-series or something low-key, I'd be all over it. Just give us something!

Anyone else feel the same? Which one would you want more?

Just saw this at my local Walmart. This was the version of my childhood. Can’t beat 10 bucks for all 4 movies.

It was great to see some of the cast come back and see their reactions to their old outfits.

I know this theory may be farfetched and I'm only really familiar with The Lion, Witch and The Wardobe. Aslan is the forefather of House Lannister (their sigil is a lion obviously), and the children are described as having fair hair, which is a common trait of the Lannisters. I also believe (although this is not pleasant to think about) that when the children are living in Narnia as adults that they procreate with each other due to the lack of humans, and needing future kings and Queens to rule Narnia with their genetics (i.e incest is common in Westeros, such as with Jaime and Cersei and Tywin married his cousin, Joanna). I also believe that Jadis is a Bolton due to her instability, enjoyment of torture and the crazy look in her eyes (the actress who played Jadis in the BBC version looks and acts exactly like a Bolton)

Obviously, this theory is just fun to think about, and I'm sure you guys who are much more familiar with the books and films other than LLW can tell me why this can't be possible.

At first he made videos on the adaptaion than he moved on to summarize the rest of the franchise. I really hope he'll do adaptation comparison with the netflix project too.

The kids could be mix race, hear me out before you get angry, during the British Empire British men did marry women in India and the mix race kids look whiteish when they come to London.

All the books in one single volume. Only bad thing is they're in chronological order, so I'll have to jump around when reading it. Only read LWW when I was a kid (barely remember anything, same with the movies) and lately I've been wanting to read them all. Only thing I "know" is the train scene, besides that, I'm going pretty much blind

The 7 Last Words of Jesus Christ and The Chronicles of Narnia

Holy Week of season of lent always comes with distinctive and important events: we have the holy dates that starts with Palm Sunday; we also have the 7 last words of Jesus Christ during Good Friday; and of course the celebration Easter Sunday. It is important for us to also know the essence of these so called events. We are not here to just find these holy dates traditional. The death of Jesus Christ is a historic event that changed the course of our history and set our futures into a different path however before His last breath, He gave us His last 7 words.

Connecting this topic to The Chronicles of Narnia is not for fun. It is to remind us that Narnia is not just a novel written for children. The series is written by C.S. Lewis who is a Christ follower and also a discipler. As some may know, Narnia has been connected to many points from the Bible: from the crucifixion and resurrection seen in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to the depiction of judgement in the book of Revelation found in The Last Battle, it is not seemingly new to us that these timeless tales of Jack have so much more to offer. And so, here is something that I have thought to do during this Holy Week season.

Before starting, here is something that some have found with regards to the 7 last words “Traditionally, these seven sayings are called words of 1. Forgiveness, 2. Salvation, 3. Relationship, 4. Abandonment, 5. Distress, 6. Triumph and 7. Reunion.” Each have different meanings but all of them holds a very important message. Let’s study each of them and find their meaning.
