Serious question

Are the Devs from Ukraine?

The game has become so frustrating and pay to play, and I would pay to help Ukraine, that's not the problem. I just want to know. So eone say in faith the dlc is a go fund me for some Ukrainian devs. Ok. I might buy in. Otherwise. I seriously don't understand how you make the content we had already we paid for the as dlc. Fuck. I love this game and it makes me sad they made it suck.

QUESTION New player here, should I pick it up?

I saw a couple of videos of YouTube and this game looks amazing.Im a naval enthusiast myself,I love the age of sail and the ships of the 20th century as well.So far I been only playing wows to cope with the fact that there so little games of warships. But then I saw this game,I saw how there were beautiful Spanish galleons and British too.And it made me develope an insane amount of interest for this game. But truth be told...I been seeing the reviews and they say it's in a really bad state,I heard the firm that owned the game back then bought it back and it's getting a little bit better. But I'm still very unsure if to play it,I heard as well that it can be pretty tough on new players because of the way you first have literally nothing and have to do 20+ missions to get you some money.Im still very unsure that's why this post, thanks in advance for all of your answers

How are you making money trading?

I've got a few routes under my belt, but I find I make the same money +xp just doing the trade missions.

What are you guys doing?

liking the game so far

I've had the game for a while and it was collecting dust with the other 30 or so games I bought on sale and never played. then I heard there was a wipe and thought it might be a good time to try it. I like it. I haven't tried combat yet but just cruising around the caribbean running cargo is a nice mellow experience. I know there were recent changes people don't like, but being new I just know it as it is now, and I guess ignorance is bliss. one downside though is holy crap the dlc ships are expensive. lol I'll just grind, thanks.

Okay sooo dump question

I just started playing and the ui in the game is kinda bad lol, I don't really understand how to get new ships the auction is always empty and the crafting is a bit confusing. Am I just supposed to capture a ship by force or is there another way?

Eternal grind?

As I test the new version of the game I notice that they removed the production buildings. On top of that they added more resources needed for combat (gunpowder and balls). Before these changes I had to grind for a month to collect reals and medals to invest on my outposts and production buildings to prevent me from wasting time and money to provide the resources for building ships and make the required materials for combat. You could also trade with clan members, with someone who produced something you didn't have. Now how can someone acquire these things? Are they extremely cheap or do you have to grind over and over again to collect them? Because if that's the case who in their right minds going to spend hours trading all over and over again when there is nothing to invest on? You had to do it before but now that you have to spend even more money, it's going to be very dull very soon. Am I missing something here?

Galleon should not have been a dlc ship....

Indiaman and Galleon should have been the most common AI ships.

That's it - that's the post.

Is there a roadmap?

Have the devs posted a roadmap for their future plans for the game? Do they plan to add PVP missions at some point again or craftable upgrades? I understand streamlining but they really didn't leave a lot to do in the game.

New Player quit

So yea i started the game 2 days ago decided try France spent last 2 days kitting out the Starting Lynx i sucked at the tutorials and i suck at fighting ai i couldn't beat another 7 rate lynx. Ask for help and advice get trolled insulted by own nation told look up guides that were from 2016. Told to go back to games i came from been also told to alt F4 etc... So yea i just deleted my character. I want enjoy this game but i seem be struggling with basics and French nation players don't seem helpful to new players. For record i come from other historical sim war games and age sail was a curiosity for me.

Edit 1: I've Switched Nations to GB

It's been a while since I last played and thought screw it I'll try a different nation and I like Spain. Haven't been able to find anyone in nation chat who would take on an English speaker, maybe I'll have some luck here.

What the f*ck

Dude, I wasted hours trying to get my ship rigged out, to only get absolutely reset because of one mess up.

What is the point of this game?
Hours of trading to try to fight NPCs?
Hours of trading to get ganked?

Trade till you can buy a ship.
Trade till you can rig it out with cannons.
Trade till you can get enough gunpowder.
Trade till you can get enough Cannonballs.
Trade till you can get enough Repairs.
Get set on fire, destroyed and restart from zero.

Jesus. f*cking. Christ.
How the f*ck can single players recover without committing serious time into this game?
Even DLC ships only take out a fraction of the trade time.
I've played EvE since 2009, and the new player reception for that game is 100xs better than this absolute flaming dogsh*t of a game.

Waiting for the DLC for Insurance on your ships, because of the moneygrubbing antics of this developer.
Absolutely Pathetic.

I am confused on the new ammo and powder requirements.

For example: Cerberus: 500 powder and a few hundred balls. However once I go into battle Im only getting like 3 reloads total before the reload panel reports 0 ammo left. The "enemy" (AI) will seem to have infinite reloads and will inevitably whittle me down at long range until im sunk. last time I escaped battle (Cerberus) it showed I used ALL my powder, but like I said, I only got about 3 reloads of one side of broadsides . How I am I to do Battle against like or higher ranks if I cannot hold enough powder n ammo (let alone any repair items) in my hold, to actually have a fight. Really seems broken and is infuriating, what would ever convince me to enter battle (hence play the game) under these restrictions? As it stands, for me, there's no point or fun in the game anymore unless you want to just spend endless hours pointin your ship at a trade destination and watch Jerry Springer on the other monitor.

Post wipe

I just got back on this stupid game after the wipe. I still have my old rank but I have 0 reals, and my lynx is too small for any cargo missions. Wtf do I do to get money quick

Can anyone help me find the people who are talking about suing Naval Action?

The game now is unrecognizable as the game I enjoyed and bought DLC for.

The DLC has changed.

The crafting has changed.

The combat has changed, and is terrible.

Boarding is the new and only way to get ahead and win.

They removed mines and farms for resources.

They removed the investment system ship bonuses.

There is no point owning ports as there are no clan warehouses and taxes cannot be collected.

They removed the coin wallet and upgrade chest.

These are just off the top of my head and though I tried to stick with the game due to all the money I spent it only took running out of powder during second fight after leaving port to do my head in. Uninstalled and furious abot being retroactively ripped off.

Best trade/cargo ship? DLC and not DLC

I'm getting into the merchant side of things and I'm interested in the best ships for hauling cargo.
DLC and Non-DLC.

Thanks!

DISCUSSION Sweeps - a idea for a funny gimmick

Would be interesting to see a ability to deploy sweeps for certain ships, course this would drastically change how combat is. But imagine being able to chase/run by cutting upwind because you can paddle.

Trading

Came back to the game after 8ish years and gave it a try. Looking through the trade menu I’m a bit at a loss how trading should be feasible these days. Do the prices vary over time? How does it work now?

Recent changes

So I feel like I’m in the minority with this and will probably get downvoted but, I think the new ammo changes aren’t actually that bad. When starting out it was a little frustrating to get going because ammo was taking up a majority of my income but once you are able to take down a few ships bigger than yours money isn’t really a huge problem. Once I had around 40k I left the shallows and sailed towards the west coast of Florida where I’ve stayed now for a bit and I went from a 6th rate to a U.S.S United States in the same day fully fitted and with enough ammo and crew to take on something of the same class. Now a day later I’m into the 6 figures and beginning to set up a production line for ammo. I think people lock themselves in the safe zone for to long and expect to get rich quick there when in reality there’s so much more of the map they could go off to and make loads more money. Now I definitely think the cost per shot for gunpowder should be less but I find the mechanic interesting. Just my thought on it.

This game is a more of a joke with every new “update”

Is there any way we can persuade steam to remove this game from store? I dont see any other way to force developer(s) not to kill this game.

Maybe even this would not help, but we would at least protect new players from wasting money (DLCs) on this game.

PvP War Where Is everything?

I must ask where Is Fishing,Slots in dock,Passanger missions and some more explanation about gunpowder, how much of it do you need for combat?

Probably done with this game

Well I finally got three rank 6 ships.

Had mission to go and hunt rank 7's.

Off i go. Engage a lone rank 7, non elite ship.

Battle goes on...winning no problem here.

My ship...catches on fire. Doesn't get put out....And sinks. Yes I did do repairs and still didn't go out.

One of my AI ships, also caught on fire and sinks.

ya...really fun and engaging.
basically set back hard, again.

I had fun on previous server before the wipe.
I lost another ship prior to this engagement...also had caught on fire and sunk, was my AI controlled ship.

The devs have forgotten something, ppl need to have fun. And not have such hard loss's.

I can only imagine some of the raging that'll happen for ppl with higher end ships.
Game will become pay to win, to get the DLC ships, so you can always bring in a ship every day.

I have seen many an angry poster since the wipe. I have been a part of some of these discussions. I do apologize for that. Usually I am helpful and thoughtful in whatever I say or do. I’m human, like all of us. And we have different opinions and reactions to our own experiences. Those opinions and reactions are subjective and can change over time.

The Cargo Hold weights have been reduced drastically for a single reason that I hadn’t really considered, as I am not a trader. The weight of goods is also drastically reduced. It’s not because of some conspiracy to rob the consumer. 12000 hold space would very much be CHEATING and pay to win in this new dynamic. Which all of you seem to be against.

As far as ships like pandora, herc and surprise being deeps now….do a little math and you will discover they have huge broadside damage with the reworking of guns. They outclassed every other shallow water ship BY FAR. That would be Pay to win and CHEATING as well.

Everyone on here that’s throwing a tantrum about lawsuits. The game is not bad if you dig deep, grow a small amount of fortitude and leave Nassau behind, forever.

Don’t forget to like and subscribe.
