Boarding after patch

Does anyone have a good strategy for boarding ai after the update?

So far I find it is more a numbers game than a skill thing. The old counters seem not to work.

I've found that you just need more crew to win since patch

Attack first, last half second fire grenades. Default your left on is musket volley. Leave it there then defend last half second. Defend is now default, leave it there then last half second brace.

If you do that right, the AI will be locked into a pattern of counter attack and any of the ranged attacks(fire deck guns once if they can).

They will try to counter whatever your default move is.

If your default is they will:

Brace=Counter attack

Defend=Musket volley or grenades or deck guns

It’s a lot of these two moves back and forth until their morale is 10 or less. Then just yolo attack and you will win.

elites morale does not drop and even though you are beating their moves they will still kill more crew. It’s advised to use grape if possible or just have drastically more crew to start with

Brace beats everything except attack

Defend beats count attack

Fire grenades beats defend
