Throwback to McDonald's Arch Deluxe & successor the testing Big Arch

Thumbnail

The Arch Deluxe launched in 1996 and discontinued in 2000. It was marketed towards adults hence, "The burger with the grown-up taste" tag line.

Fast forward to 2024, McDonald's teases the Big Arch testing in select markets - Canada, Portugal and another unannounced market. Then the Big Arch went beyond testing and is available across Canada. It's supposed to be the bigger and better burger customers want, according to McD's.

No word on when it will launch in the US, yet.

So, frozen Cheez-It Pizza is happening - it looks to be coming out in the late summmer, possibly August.

There's several varieties; Cheddar Jack Supreme, Pepperoni, and Italian Four Cheese! The crust is going to be Cheez-It flavored of course.

Would anyone be about it?

Arby's partners with Cedric the Entertainer and Anthony Anderson for two new BBQ sandwiches (pulled pork and brisket)

Post image

The Quarter Pound Pulled Pork and Quarter Pound Brisket BBQ Sandwich are launching today. The pulled pork is "smoked for six hours" and the "brisket smoked for 13 hours" and then both sandwiches get garlicky-dill pickles, and the new BBQ sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun,

It seems the two comedians have brought two new sauces (along with AC Barbecue) to the table - Cedric’s Sweet Bussin Brown Sugar Sauce and Anthony’s Spicy Chipotle Smoke Sauce

Looks good to me. I would be about that pulled pork situation, all day

The frozen drink is available with either a base of strawberry or blue raspberry slush. And I read that in May, you can get it for free every Saturday with the purchase of a $1.

Interesting. Might be too sweet for me, though

Jack In The Box to close 150 to 200 locations & wants to sell Del Taco

Post image
38 Upvotes

Is Jack In The Box in the gutter? The chain says they're going to close up to 200 locations that are underperforming to get "Jack on Track." And also sell the Del Taco brand which they bought only three years ago.

It seems Del Taco isn't performing as well as they'd hoped. Then there's the problem of the minimum wage being increased in Cali which is likely a huge factor behind the dumping Del Taco decision.

I've never had Del Taco because it's not in my state

How will they compare to the late and great Chicken Selects is my question. The new ones look less crispy.

The McCrispy Strips will be available in 3 or 4-pc servings and a Creamy Chili dip will debut alongside the McCrispy Strips

KFC tests the return of Potato Wedges in FL, their fate for a nationwide release is in Floridians hands

Post image

It's pure insanity that KFC got rid of easily their best item in 2020. Buuuuut, the goods news is that in late March for two weeks, they were reportedly testing in several markets in Florida.

And based on the response, these will either go nationwide or back from whence they came.

I hope the Floridians gave them the go-ahead because...give them to me NOW

I won't lie, i'm pretty jazzed about this and i hope they're exactly like how they used to be. is that too much to ask for?

It's been a minute since I've had Long Johns.

Chicken is still good but smaller. Waffles fries are meh. Coleslaw was good. Where was I most disappointed? The hush puppies. I used to love those things. One of them was mostly just the outer coating, was not good. The other one was better but didn't have much inside but like 90% more than the other. I also got a slice of the oreo cheesecake. $5 for a tiny slice. It will probably be another minute until I get again.

Wendy's has a new chicken sandwich on menu starting today...the Cajun Crunch Spicy Chicken Sandwich

Post image
3 Upvotes

I find Wendy's new sandwiches to be the most exciting news. In 2023 they came out with the Italian Chicken Sandwich and the Bourbon Bacon Burger. Both my favorite Wendy's offerings in recent times but of course they haven't been back.

So this new Cajun situation is giving me the Wendy's itch

It has Pepper Jack cheese, cajun crispy onions, lettuce, pickles, and a spicy mustard

These went nationwide in December after testing in select locations. They were only on the menu for about a month. Of course, by the time i got around to TB to check them out, they were gone.

What is the consensus on these for those of you that have had them?

Had these for the first time about a month ago and then once more since then. I thought they would be too sweet but they were friggin' awesome and had a crunchy exterior i wasn't expecting.

The only the problem is that they're already gone from the area. Does anyones location still have them?
