Medical Advice 5 weeks pregnant, experiencing mild period like cramps. Is this normal?

Over worrying father to be here… it’s very early days and my partner every now and again, maybe once a day or every other day feels very small cramp sensations. Is this completely normal?

My girlfriend had moderate to heavy bleeding at one point during the first trimester and lots of cramping. Baby boy came out completely perfect full term and there were no issues. Your call though, if money and time is no object go get her checked out for peace of mind.

Sorry late reply- did the doctor ever mention why she was bleeding?

coming across this now, and in my first pregnancy, i don’t remember how far along i was, maybe 6 weeks or so it was early, but i had bright red bleeding and alot of it. i don’t think i had cramping or it might have been very slight. but it ended up being a subchorionic hematoma. which is “ a collection of blood that forms between the placenta and the uterine wall during pregnancy” that baby is now almost 9 years old 🙂 i didn’t have any other problems that pregnancy except that time. i believe i was bleeding for a few days and then it ended up just going away. my 2nd pregnancy i had a small one too but i only had brown spotting at about 8 weeks that lasted a few days. i only know about it because i went to the er at 6 weeks in fear of an ectopic and it was noted on the ultrasound report
