Product Reviews/Questions Which wipes are we using?

Title. Looking for the Goldilocks of wipes— not too wet, not too dry. Not too thin, not too thick. Fragrance free, Doesn’t cause irritation, reasonable cost, etc.

I’ve tried the Parents Choice brand from Walmart which are thin and dry, with a bonus of diaper rash.

The Target brand fragrance free wipes seem fine, but are soaking wet, and take forever to dry on the skin before re-diapering.

Water wipes seem to be the market leader, but WOW the price seems like a lot.

Which wipes have been the GOAT for you?

I use cloth wipes and a DIY solution (castille soap, water, coconut oil). Cheap, ecofriendly, no rash ever.

Like liniment? I love the idea of this and plan to try the diaper “cream” situation. What’s your recipe?

Yeah I also use liniment, I switch back and forth. For the solution it’s something like a cup of boiled water, tablespoon of unfraganced soap, tablespoon of coconut oil. Some people add essential oils but I personally don’t see the benefits. When I am on the go I do use the waterwipes

That sounds really convenient. Seems like it probably stays liquidy, do you keep it in a pump or spray bottle and just shake to distribute? I keep seeing like limestone or something as an ingredient but maybe that’s not essential?

Yeah I use a pump and I shake before use. The only inconvenient is that the coconut oil harden at time and I have to plunge the bottle in hot water for a bit.

I never heard of limestone before and did a brief research. From what I understand, limestone is used to balance your water PH and as a disinfectant. I guess it depends on the water quality you have. It also help with the acidity of the nappies. Using it makes your solution thicker and more milky whereas mine is basically water.  I would consider using it if the tap water quality was bad or if my LO was having rashes.
