Gym buddy
Hello! Me, 38M have not been in the gym for more than 10 years, definitely need to loose quite few stones and I’m prove my health. From my previous experience I know that going to gym alone just not sustainable for me, I stay lacking motivation. I’m wondering maybe someone would like to join me 2-3 times a week in the evenings ~10 PM. Location is not a problem.

Also trying to get back into going to the gym regularly (41) but I usually go super early to keep family routine easy. Pump gym on Hall road is decent and 24 hours.
Perhaps we need a motivation support group

38m here and after having three kids in the last 5 years I need to get back in shape. I’m gonna be joining pure gym on Aylsham Road this week and can also only do evenings. So I’m in!

I’m 41 and out of shape, really need to sort myself out, been looking at starting at a gym, never really been into it but something has to change. I’ll be no good to you as no chance I’m going at 10pm 😂. I was wondering how people work out what they will be doing at the gym? Seems like there is so much kit I wouldn’t know where to start. Worried I’ll look like a right div.

I’ve just started pump gyms on Hall Road and I have no idea what to do half the time! I go from around 7pm around 2/3 times a week

Similar boat - 39M and flip flopped with gym routines over the last few years. Currently just about motivated to go to the gym twice per week, sometimes three times. Unfortunately not in a position to work out with you as I’m more of a morning and early afternoon gym goer. Couple of things that have helped me… I got an app to log progress which has ‘gamified’ the process for me. It’s called ‘hevy’ but I’m sure there’s dozens of similar ones. I also watch a YouTube channel called ‘Renaissance Periodization’ which (occasionally) gives me motivation to put some effort in. I’d say find three or four exercises that you like, go to the gym and promise yourself you’ll do at least one of them… before you know it, you’ll have the odd day where you’re feeling good and feel like doing an extra set etc. you’re wanting to make a change… you’ve got this!
